我也在英國心碎過, 跟你分享: / 2012年, 大學畢業後第一次出國留學, 到倫敦念書 找了一個月的房子, 房仲對我很好很好, 英國人真的很親切 最後住在一個很棒, 很貴的地區. 住了半年之後, 有一天晚上11點, 水管破裂, 整個客廳都淹水了(汙水+糞水) 好幾個晚上, 沒辦法睡覺, 都害怕廁所在半夜發出的鬼怪聲音 也不敢出門上課, 更不敢回家打開門面對一切 不能洗澡, 上廁所, 房屋仲介留給我房東的email後就再也沒管我了 非常冷淡, 跟一開始態度差好多!!(對英國人第一次心碎) / 最後連絡上英國的房東, 因為水管工來了十幾次, 一直修不好, 她不但不讓我退租, 最後也不把deposit還給我 還說是我用壞的! (我的心碎了第二次). / 結果, 我去當初簽約的房屋仲介公司, 他們竟然說「門市不提供解約的服務」 (跟台灣的電信公司好像XD) 要我寫email跟他們聯絡, 結果寫了mail, 也沒有回信(第三次心碎) / 清潔公司來把整個大樓的水管打開, 發現裡面有尿布及wet tissue 後來知道因為樓上的阿伯, 把wet tissue跟尿布丟馬桶, 堵塞了整個水管 / 最後我實在受不了, 我說明明就不是我的錯, 我說: 把錢還來, 而且我要解約, 不然我要「告你們」 / 結果, 隔天就寄來解約書了.......deposit也進來銀行帳戶了.... / (這時候已經不知道, 應該不應該心碎了??!!) / 搬走之後, 因為我沒有特別跟council 說「我搬離這個住址」 房屋仲介也沒有幫我辦理相關的手續， 兩年後，我回台灣了，竟然收到房屋仲介的mail FW英國法警處的emil給我, 因為「沒有繳兩年的council tax」, 發最後警告信件給我, 叫我繳稅! / 沒錯, 我沒有住在那裏, 但是他們叫我繳稅.....誤會很大 / 我又再度心碎了!!(這次是在台灣的家, 電腦前面, 徹底對英國人心碎) / 我寫了好多的mail給council說明, 結果也沒有回覆 故事就到這裡結束了 / 我想你一定在台灣也遇見很多奇怪的事情, 希望你也能越來越豁達. Heart broken 不會一直碎下去, 有一天, 他會好的! 就像我, 兩年前又回到倫敦, (我曾經跟朋友說, 我這輩子再也不會去英國的!) 在Tower Bridge那裏看著河畔時, 覺得心情異常輕鬆, 英國, 真的好美好美.... / 原來, 心碎會被時間治好. 台灣人都與你同在, 我們一起心碎, 一起治療心碎......哈哈!!

I can relate. My grandmother died when I was in China. It's a tough position to be in. I felt like it was my responsibility to be there and support my father and his family but completely helpless to do so some at away. Sucks man. It's just part of living abroad though. And I worry about it much more now that traveling is much more difficult.

Wes you are so right, got very deep and emotional in a few parts. Heartbreak makes you truly understand what things you care about the most. Plus blaming yourself after the fact is a useless exercise, but learning from your mistakes makes you a better person. I share your grief in all the relationships that you have spoken about - it's a pretty delicate thing as I am still learning and dealing with (aside from getting confused and heartbroken on occasions) from time to time. That comment made by your friend from HK is right - despite the glamorous surface, there's no hope here and people are thinking of ways to leave as soon as they possibly can. This sort of craziness seems to be the way of the world at this moment. I feel the sad because I am in similar situation. I do not have wife or son apart from me, but my families are half earth away. I flew to Taiwan 3 times last year because my parents were in hospital. You are right, indeed Taiwanese tends to ignore the dark part, depressing things and either move on or hide it, this obviously isn't good for the long term mental health, despite generally good health system, I believe mental health support is generally lacking in Taiwan, just to be fair to Taiwan, mental health support are also not fully developed yet in countries with good health system such as Australia, New Zealand ,its something hopefully will get more attention in the future

I came across this video by accident, and I totally agree with your disappointment about your grandpa's pass away. One of my closest aunties passed away suddenly few days ago, and I was/am in the USA. I postponed two times of my flights back to Taiwan due to COVID-19(March and May). I was working when I got the message, and I just felt weird. I cried badly when I went to bed. I wish I could have flew back, I wish there could have not been COVID. Later on, I told myself, she no longer suffers the pain(she was hospitalized but I was not told what the cause was) and I should be happy for her. I told myself she is now one of the brightest stars in the sky, and every time I look up into the sky, I would see her and she would be watching me. Now we do not need airplanes anymore.

艾倫還很年輕就有如此的心情感受！確實身在國外無時無刻都要面對親情等等遠距離造成的總總考驗！人的一生就是每天要面對各種不同心境的考驗不是嗎？！其實看艾倫與老婆的關係只是因遠距離才造成的疏遠應該要極力挽回才對！避免遺憾趕快回去才是！不然也可以把小孩和老婆接到台灣生活一些時候！真的是無法適應再一起回英國才是最佳方式吧！！！
