You missed my state. I played with a small (3 rattles) rattlesnake in my state. He was pretty and harmless to humans. He and the others were working on mice which are worse to humans than rattlers.

Virginia has copperheads, timber rattlesnakes, and cottonmouths. Copperheads live all over the state. Cottonmouths live in the southeast of the state. Timber rattlesnakes live in the west of the state and in a small corner of the southeast. They are not found in a large portion of the middle of the state.

Washington state Rattlesnakes are mainly found in the central to eastern sections of the state Very few to known of or captured in the coastal ranges. At least I've not ever found one over there in my lifetime ( 56 years) they are tasty lil critters though.

You got that right in Idaho we don't really have with poisonous snakes often. I'm not surprised that Arizona is number one I do have snake problems. 😊

I'm from Maryland we have copperheads and water moccasins but I haven't seen any in person I have seen some wild snakes I usually see harmless black racers and stuff like that occasionally I'll see you like a garter snake or some dead hatchling that I can't identify

The range of the Water Moccasin does include Maryland. Water snakes (harmless) are in that state are often misidentified as Water Moccasins.

No Agkistrodon picivorous aka Cottonmouths and Watermoccasins live in Maryland. Maryland has the harmless species of Nerodia sipedon Northern Watersnakes and some other species of harmless Watersnakes often mistaken for Cottonmouths. Range ends for Cottonmouths in Southeastern Virginia.

@richardhincemon here's the thing my mom is pretty sure she's seen a water moccasin in Maryland but everywhere we've checked is like no no they don't live in Maryland only in Virginia and whatnot and we're very close to the border and here's another thing reptiles don't understand these lines that humans have drawn to separate borders between states and I've heard that certain animals might go farther outside of their normal range than usual if like temperatures or other animals behavior is a little different you know I've heard that in recent years for instance polar bears and grizzly bears have overlapping and territory a lot more and its result in not necessarily fights between them but some hybridizing and to be honest you know jaguars they're supposed to be a South American species but you'll occasionally see them come through Central America and there's even been some spotted in the southwestern part of the United States granted it's usually only onebut it has happened so I mean we're not just going to randomly have animals from other continents show up but if it's something that's from a state or two away you really shouldn't be surprised if it occasionally ends up in your area especially if you've had unusually wet or dry or hot or cold weather because something might be affecting the area they're normally in causing them to be outside of their normal range

You are so wrong on your snakes... The common garter snake is mildly venomous with a neurotoxin as is the Hognose snake. If You're going to put out info make sure it's correct.

Some researchers say that almost all snakes have at least some degree of venom. Most are extremely mild.
