@@GrantMcWilliams I can understand that, and the human body can be accustomed to certain temperatures. However, there comes a point where your home reaches a temperature that causes the body to sweat when doing simple activities like vacuuming (or just lying down) and no one should ever have to be sweating in their own home. If my house were over 72F (or 22.3C), I'd be sweating with simple activities, personally. Are you saying that with a 26c indoor temp, that doesn't occur with you? I'd be dying. Outdoors, 26c wouldn't be too bad, assuming there's a light breeze.

I've watched about 30 videos about airconditioner and literally no one mentions what the outdoor temparature. They literally have no idea that outdoor temparature is one of the main factor that effect power consumption of AC. Very detailed explanation overall. I think instead of buying the meco power consumption meter you can use smart plug like Wipro which costs only 700 rupees.

Thanks man, and outside temperature is literally the most important thing, even more so when it comes to Inverter ACs because these units take into account the outside temp and decide at how much power the compressor runs at. 😊

its nice to see someone checking it with a real power meter instead on making calculation on paper. I know ACs are closed loop systems and therefore complicated to calculate power for but this gives a ballpark figure to people who don't know anything about it.

Yup! Its more or less a ballpark figure, the power consumption varies depending on outside temperature, size of the room and also on how well the AC is being maintained.

Very nicely narrated. Nice modulation. Nicer content. Nicest presentation. Well done. Incidentally my 1.5 ton AC in my Chennai home is a non inverter AC and it consumes around 14 units during its night running of around 11 hours... Except for my own cleaning of the outdoor unit with water jet and cleaning of the dust filters in the indoor unit I've not so far encountered any problems... Day time running is very very rare... Night time running from mid March to mid July... Five months and for those months I get a bill of around 4,000 bimonthly... after seeing your clip I've decided to go in for an inverter AC as soon as my AC conks out! Maybe another couple of years .. but like you said waiting might produce more efficient inverter ACs! God bless you

This is a great content. Whenever I ask the air conditioner stores, usually they would tell me that if you are using the air conditioner for more than 4-5 hours (some even say 7-8 hours) continously, then you should only consider inverter otherwise it is not worth the money. From your video, it takes less than an hour for the room temp to reach the set temp before the compressor starts to slow down. This is obviously affected by different factors but i am coming from Malaysia where the average outside temperature is about 32-34C so I can imagine it is faster to reach the set temperature. Inverter is definitely the future. Not only because of the electricity savings but it also helps to reduce the carbon footprint.
@TechGuyCharlie
@TechGuyCharlie 2 жыл бұрын
When the outside temperature is about 32-34 then it takes less than 10 minutes to cool the room down to 24, after that the AC will run at low power to just maintain the room temperature, totally worth getting an inverter unit. Same story here, the shop keepers always push for non-inverter units mainly due to their higher profit margins, however due to stricter energy saving norms, non-inverter ACs have almost completely disappeared from our market. Inverter units are definitely superior, not only when it comes to energy savings, but also they make less noise and provide consistent cooling, since the compressor keeps running continuously at lower power levels.

If the direct sun affects the ceiling/sunny wall that much, an interesting experiment would be to apply some additional external shade/blinds over them. The consumption data of the AC units observed over a longer period of time could prove if it made a significant difference or not.

One with geko lizards shorting them out . So putting a bug screen seems like a way to solve that . But also some have reported the units wearing out prematurely here in the philippines , it's suspected the fluctuating power supply is hard on them . Maybe a power surge protector would help that .

I'd actually love to, but Its impossible to compare the both, as they are installed in different rooms with varying heat load and sun facing walls, there is also a significant difference in the size of the room. So, unless both of them are installed in the same room its not a good idea to compare the usage. Anyway, you aren't wrong about the usage, both will end up using roughly the same amount of power, what inverter AC gives you is comfort, as there isn't any temperature or humidity variation.

It will more for non inverter AC,since the compressor has to work again

Hello! I recently got a 1.5 ton 5 star LG dual inverter AC! Model is something enza! I live in Tamil Nadu! I turn on the AC by about eleven in the night and turn it off by six or six thirty the next day! Now before I got the AC my bimonthly EB bill comes to about 250 rs! How much will my bill come in the coming months! Occasionally I use the AC in the afternoon from two to five on Sundays! Could you please help? We have different slabs here for the eb!

hello, I am myself doing a monthly Kwh energy consumption test, I've started logging my kWh consumption and hours used from today (7th June) and will post the results after (7th July). I can't tell you the exact numbers because the results will vary quite a bit from households to households and there are a lot of things that affect the energy consumption of an AC. One thing you can do is, buy an energy meter as I have done because that will show you the accurate number of units consumed and you can experiment with settings on your AC to reduce your bill even further. 😊

Hi, a question if I may. During the "maintaining of the temperature" can the AC consume less than 500 watts or that's the lowest it can go?
@TechGuyCharlie
@TechGuyCharlie 10 ай бұрын
The lowest I've seen is 350 watts, but doesn't last long, goes back to 500-530, that also depends on the outside temperature, size of it the room.. Etc.

@@TechGuyCharlie Thanks man. I have a 5000 btu windows AC, it consumes around 450 watts but it takes like half an hour to cool the room. I'm thinking about buying a 9000 btu inverter split AC that I'm sure it will cool my room faster but I'm not sure if that's going to be a better choice in terms of electricity consumption.

I have a doubt. When I switch in my ac as soon as my stablizer turns green the ac unit first run on fan for 10minutes and then start cooling it. But if i switch on my ac after 30minutes when stabilizer turns green then the ac unit starts cooling the room on the go. My doubt is why does this happens? Is it good or not? Is it energy efficient method?

During start up of an inverter and non-inverter ac, I was told that max wattage will be multiplied to 3. I have a 1.5 HP inverter AC and Im looking for a correct size generator. It seems 3000 watts is enough.. Thanks for the video
@TechGuyCharlie
@TechGuyCharlie 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you and I would say it depends on a lot of factors, the one in this video is a 2hp unit and the max it consumes is 2500watts, and that is on an extremely hot day, 45*C but if the temperature is below 35 the max power consumption never goes above 2000watts, that too only for a few minutes, but you should be good with a 3000watt generator. By the way, some Inverter ACs have a 'Generator' function that limits the max power. On LG you can use energy control to do the same thing.

Nope! I did the test without energy control because other brand AC's don't have this feature, so the test would not have been fair.

the invertee technology is very powerful concept can be used in weather, electrity, sound etc.. all it main purpuse is either shift the wave to find 180 shift of critical frquency to neutralized and in electritcity because everything is ground and so if you groubd correctly all you need is the inbound signal not the current and shift it then use it and reflect back neutral and so the metter see no current and your system had same ground and shifted signal so it literrally using electeiciry without the power drain
