True. I think the short form just makes a bad impression for some folks, particularly older generations - like me. Or folks who generally think 'less is more' - again like me. I wasn't convinced by most of the stuff recommended to me about him so far, and he seemed cocky, showing off too much and overly expressive. But today I watched 2 interviews and I'm impressed by what he does live, how much joy he has from teaching. Still showing off a bit to the point of smiling, but he must also be having good fun and be happy things turn out sounding great. Plus some good sense of humor on top and I'm sold. Especially after seeing some 7y old video from his school where he played classical / flamenco, so he clearly knows what he's doing and it's not just shredding for show hiding lack of skills. I'd still want to listen sth calmer from him, with fewer notes, but that wouldn't sell as well probably. Maybe once he gets older and/or gets a baby he'll learn there's value out there value in silence / breaks ;)

Here's my take. I'm late 60s - loved both Jimi's(Hendrix & Page), Carlos, Eric, Duane, Beck, Kieth and so on. I've always loved talented and unique guitarists. I have an outdoor type skill I've been at for 45years and am considered an expert by many (5000+ days at my craft) and when those with little experience question me I can't help but ignore there uneducated opinion. I feel any haters or doubters are commenting with jealousy and no understanding. This young man is breaking ground and he's been at it for 13 years now - many have played for much, much longer. It's obvious he's put in the work BUT, it's also obvious he's a rare talent - very rare.I visited a Jazz guitar sit to see their totally in denial of this guys ability and I'm sure most have very little. Marcin should be embraced as I'm feeling lucky to watch one the the best guitarists or all time develop - but hey I'm just a silly old bugger.🤗

To be honest I ve never seen a group more hated in my lifetime than fingerstyle guitarists. Classical and jazz guitarists keep on preaching orthodox technique, forgetting that the guitar as it is exists for less than 200 years. There is so much room for growth on the instrument. Vera Danilina, only in this decade arranged Rondo alla Turka complète for guitar in capo II. The current generation of guitar players are getting ridiculously good and I see no reason why we can't learn from them. Can you imagine the sound once somebody is able to play Asturias with precursion? Can you imagine what Recuerdos de l Alhambra will sound on a guitar with the scratch thingy the boy added on his guitar? So many exceptional players limit themselves by refusing to delve to new paths.

He plays like he’s the entire band! You can watch 3 guys playing together to make the sounds he does.

as a classical musucian, , who goes to a lot of concerts (not only classical but also other genres), i have only cried something like twice or thrice in my lifetime of hearing live music. Yet over a casual recording of an instrument i'm not usually interested into, i ended up crying really quickly and unexpectedly. There is just something so powerful about your talent. it hits all the right places, and strums the right strings for me. it's music, you know?

Surprisingly You reminded me, with this post, my thoughts about filling your „sould needs” with something when you’re atheist. And my substitute of god or religion is art. Music as finest art representstive. Can make you in love, crying, „on drugs”, etc like nothing else can. Greetings from Wroclaw, Poland.

Not only is he a brilliant guitarist, he is handsome, normal in appearance without the usual tats all over and as Ravishing Sailor put it “cool as Hell.” I love his style. (Not that I’m against tats but has become so ordinary to be covered with them) He is not ordinary. I’d like to thank his parents for gifting the world with such an extraordinary young man.❤

I really love when robs like “I guess with enough time I’d be able to do it” And marcin straight away says “of course you can! It’s not impossible” Like, not trying to pretend he is the wizard the internets made him out to be; instead being supportive and modest acknowledging like we all know; practice makes perfect Seems like a nice dude

It's awesome seeing people that have mastered something so well, that they can joke and talk while performing things that we couldn't even think up. This is so impressive, to say the least

19:30 is easily one of the coolest live music things ive ever seen... the way rob catches on to the new right hand pattern marcin is doing, and marcin improvises that polyrythym thing over rob is just insane.

He belongs to a new generation of young guitar players like Nito, Henson, and Mancuso who are not only extraordinarily skilled, but who are inventing new ways of playing the instrument, expanding its tonal and rhythmic possibilities, and blending different genres of classical-academic and popular music, acoustic, electronic and digital, together seamlessly.

@@AW33COM I think they write in a format that is historically attuned to the contemporary zeitgeist. Rather than albums, songs, or long compositions in the classical sense, they write snippets, oftentimes catered to social-mediatic videos, with aesthetic polish and high-production values. This is very timely in a moment when attention spans are decimated by digital stimulus addiction. But if you look at Nito's short compositions, for example, they are very beautiful and pristine. Just... brief. Polyphia is different, more of a prog-metal rock band with strong pop sensibilities. The writing is wanky but inventive and colorful. Mancuso is sprawled out between jazz and other forms of popular music, but he shines in jazz-fusion improvisation, rather than in the compositional terrain.

Marcin has such a thorough musical education that he can play anything and in any style on any instrument. Add to that diligence, incredible musical talent and stage personality and on top of that he is a wonderful, charming and contactable person what more could you want. This boy has it all and there is no way he won't have a worldwide career. It is simply written for him because such talents are born once in a generation, or maybe even less often.

Marcin couldn't be more gracious and genuine. I was actually mindblown at how down to earth, humble yet loving, kind and passionate all the while shredding the living sht out of that guitar in way I could never imagine!!!

Probably the most amazing guitarist I've ever seen, it's not just technique or accuracy, he's so creative and boundary-breaking with the guitar, and the passion in playing makes me smile :) It's difficult to play something like Asturias, but compared to this it's just a matter of practice and overcoming technical difficulty, learning bit by bit... This on the other hand is a "gestaltic" use of the guitar. This man is just on another level.

I really wanna comment on how good of a teacher he is. Hes clear and concise. And thats a great way of being able to tell if somebody knows their fuckin shit, is if they can explain it simply, y'know? If you cant explain it simply, you dont understand it well enough, yet, in a sense

What in the hell! Everything he plays is so clean, that's the really impressive part! It should be impossible to make so many sounds and not a single one is out of time and muted. Watching him play live, with nothing but reverb, knowing there's no editing is even more incredible

It's already been said in the comments but yeah I was a bit sceptical watching Marcin's videos - I was like this guy is an amazing guitarist but is he maybe multi tracking etc. This video has shown me he is 100% legit. What an incredible musician and player. Rob thank you for show casing Marcin and filming such an in depth video, I love the sincerity of it; you as an incredible musician learning and being so humble. Kudos man!
