Well, there were only so many people who dared swimming out to the depth on that planet to explore! The father and son of the Degasi crew barely got that much out, Marguerite on the other did plenty of times. Who else has that in common with her? Ryley Robinson of course. I think it's fair to say after that much digging around the seafloor deeper and deeper she did hear that voice of the Sea Emporer. She was also bent on finding out what shot her down so her inclination to risk lives and limbs to know more made perfect sense!

Actually she used a chilicerate mandible to make the weapon for her Prawn suit, and she’s killed multiple stalkers, reaper leviathans, and most probably managed to kill a ghost leviathan or two. If she went deeper and found the sea dragon she’d probably kill him as well. And if she met Riley she’d probably have immense respect for him considering he may have very well killed the sea dragon. (At least I did in my play through)

What most likely happened is that khaara was slowed down significantly by her eating the reaper flesh. In the advanced theory for the enzymes, it was mentioned that the peepers were carrying an enzyme similar to what the large predators of the region naturally produce. What if enzyme 42 isn't the only khaara cure?

I always thought it was a sea dragon that attacked the base. It's the only thing to hunt leviathans, and its plausible the blood or cries of the leviathan attracted said dragon. The dragons would even go up to the surface to attack them. I also remember hearing the cry and the leviathan sounded distressed.

Peepers carried the low quality substance across the planet, which is why life even still exists on the planet. So she had been supplied it enough to where the bacterium was slowed until the high quality enzyme 42 was released.

That's a HUGE stretch seeing how there are logs indicating bart died from the virus, this also implies your character in subnautica 1 had no real danger of succumbing to it either as he would be sustained by the peepers even though that was a main plot point. Also this means the architects could have sustained themselves and the other core worlds affected by the virus through the peepers delivery system or something similar. The peepers carrying the weaker version served as a plot point for why the ecosystem wasn't extinct that works. To say it works the same for intelligent life trivializes the threat the virus has. I liked the idea of her being in subnautica 2 but there simply is no justification to her surviving the virus till enzyme 42 was developed.

We have bart's final log that essential seals the fate for any chance the degrassi survivors had at making it. To say he survived for more than even a year given the context of your own characters condition is wishful thinking. The main character in subnautica 1 litterly lives off peepers and is told his condition is getting worse and he needs to seek a cure or he'll die. The narrative your given implies you are going to die from the virus very soon there are stakes raised. You're not just trying to get off the planet but to live long enough in the first place. But now, it's just a prank bro no biggie. I love subnautica but blindly saying the plot isn't riddled with holes by keeping her in the sequel only stangnates a community. TLDR: Nothing wrong with calling out lazy storytelling when you see it.

We know that the Sea Dragon is the only species on the planet to actually hunt and eat Reapers and will occasionally come up to the surface to get them. It's likely that either the noise or blood of the Reaper attracted a Dragon that was coming up to hunt. We also know that whatever it was, it rammed the base - we only have evidence of one other incident where a leviathan rammed into a large structure, and that was a Sea Dragon ramming into the Disease Research Facility. SO we know that instinct tells these creatures to ram large structures at high speeds - but because the Alien Facility was so much larger and more stable than the Degasi bases were, that one died of head trauma. The one that got their base, survived. I'm positive that it was a Dragon, as not only does Paul describe it as an "Alien Kraken" but also as "Bigger than the Cyclops." It also describes it as having tentacles; now you might say "Crab Squid." except the crab-squid's appendages are clearly more arthropoidal and not tentacles. Now describe what happens after it attacks, Margeurit goes after it armed with naught but a Sea-Glide and a sharp piece of scrap, lodging it into the creature's neck. During the attack, the monster tries to shake her off - much like a Dragon would if the player hooks onto it with the grappling hook in a PRAWN suit. It then dives down DEEPER going off into the darkness. I'm almost certain of two things.. 1; whatever attacked COULDN'T have been a Reaper because they don't go that deep. And 2; whatever DID attack had to be something that could…And we only know of two hostile leviathan species roaming around down there, and only ONE has tentacles. As for why the creature wouldn't just eat Margeurit - I think its because it had the body of the injured Reaper in its mouth at the time and was dragging it back down to its lair to eat it. This works because she mentions here that what she wanted was inside the monsters rib cage, and the dead body of the reaper flew up because the dragon finally let go. She took the reapers head off when she got to the zero sector

I thought that Maida tried to kill the sea dragon leviathan, as the Chief said "it's tentacles". She brought a half dead reaper into the deep reef and in the description of the sea dragon it says that they go to cooler waters and corner smaller leviathans forcing them to go to lava zone where they boil to death. I though that the sea dragon smelled the blood of the reaper leviathan in the grand reef (bc there is the entrance to lost river from there) and attacked their base

Hey SpeedyMouse you mentioned that one of the Aurora's missions was to find any survivors of the Degasi and save them if possible and that's not actually true, because the Aurora was merely trying to pull off a slingshot maneuver around the planet of 4546B when it was shit down by the quarantine enforcement platform because the Aurora got too close to the planet and the main reason the Aurora was trying to pull off a slingshot maneuver in the first place was because it was on a mission to terraform a new world for humans to inhabit and they needed to get around planet 4546B and not to mention that the Degasi was a rogue unit that was against Alterra or at the very least wasn't an Alterra ship so why would the Aurora which is a ship of Alterra try to save any survivors of the Degasi when it wasn't apart of Alterra in the first place?

I never noticed it before until i finished it for a second time a few hours ago but in the ending cutscene of Subnautica 1, you can see a frozen landmass on the otherside of 4546-B just before the rocket engages the warp drive. I thought that was pretty cool foreshadowing and gives us good geographical idea just how far Marguerite traveled on the Reaper.

Log 9 was blank, I suspect, because it may give a logical reason for surviving the Kharaa. However, there are no vents or Peepers being funneled to and from the primary containment facility, so there's no Enzyme 42 to prolong Marg's life.

Enzyme 42 probably did appear in the void, since peepers travel through out the whole planet and probably spread it in the water. The cold might have slowed the infection as well

I feel like marge is the perfect soldier turned mercenary character. We know from her scan that she was in a military scenario at one point. And we can assume whatever military they were in had similar recruiting/training standards as the US. So they need to have to be able to survive in the wild. (Ahem) They need to be able to take down large creatures with just a knife (AHEM) and they most likely in whatever mercenary guild she’s in they are taught to not trust anyone *(AHEM)* So yeah. Marge is pretty badass
