Watched this with my girlfriend, who came from a borderline abusive household. The scene where Kara finally pushed back against Brainiac (quite literally by _pushing_ the ship away from Earth while the show's theme song was playing) was super cathartic for her. Easily the best part of the season.

One thing this season touched on -- in a way that wasn't super obvious -- was parental abuse of a child. Having experienced that myself growing up, it was a particularly effective arc for Kara to break free of Brainiac and become her true self.

What's great is it wasn't a one and done "fix" - the episodes showcased over multiple episodes how fucked up the abuse was, how long-term and insidious it was, and how it was a struggle for Kara to break free. It wasn't some deceptively easy thing. I liked that was more realistic. I could even buy that Brainiac might've cared in his own fucked up way but that he was still an abusive parent. The gaslighting he kept doing was terrifying!

I definitely like this version of Kara/Supergirl, and she's one of if not my favorite version of the character. I love her backstory in this series, despite the tragedy of her being raised by Brainiac to be his weapon. I like Kara's relationship with Jimmy. The best part is that I love Kara's relationship with her cousin Clark. Despite having a bad first meeting, Clark and Kara develop a strong familial bond, which I love.

Yeah this finale was EXCELLENT! I swear I got goosebumps seeing Kara and Clark come together to defeat Brainiac and their dynamic together is so sweet. I LOVE this take on both Superman and especially Supergirl as my new favourite take on Supergirl yet. Her character arc was so compelling and well written and her backstory being raised by Brainiac is such a great reinvention of the character's origin that I honestly hope other adaptations take inspiration from. Brainiac was also an amazing villain and Micheal Emerson gave a superb performance as a such a menacing and sadistic version of Brainiac (honestly my favourite voice for the character). Everything from the visuals, to the cinematography, animation and score were all great. Can't wait for Season 3

I really liked how in the last episode alot of the villains came to Sups defense. We've seen countless times in shows like this the hero trying to help or straight up saving the life of the bad guys only for said bad guys to completely disregard that or straight up act like it never happened by the next episode ( Volcana from STAS being one the bigger examples). It's nice to have the hero being rewarded for showing kindness to their enemies for once . Hell I'd be down for the idea that these guys end up being some proto version of the Justice League (they seemed to have a little too much fun saving the world)

The thing I realized about Brainiac is that he’s also similar to Kara and Clark. He’s also crippled with loneliness and how he feels all alone. He refused to just be decommissioned all alone if peace is achieved, so he destroyed Krypton. He took Kara in and raised her. And even in his final moments when he took in kryptonite and tried to kill Kara in the end, it was because he didn’t want to die alone. Brainiac shows a very toxic and evil form of coping with loneliness and how destructive it can be.

I loved how the season ended. Like, as I'm watching, and how things were playing out, I'm watching and I'm like, "This feels more like a series finale than a season finale." And when I was watching, I was loving every second of it. Straight up, this version of Supergirl is honestly probably my favorite adaptation of the character. And that suit is awesome. MAWS and Superman and Lois are probably my favorite adaptations of Superman and his whole like, kit and caboodle lol. Overall, the season didn't disappoint for me. I did enjoy it better than Season 1. And I'm extremely, extremely hyped for Season 3 whenever that releases.

7:29 Isn't it obvious? That's Brainiac's memory drive. Think back to STAS. Superman used Brainiac's memory orb to access information and essentially build his Fortress of Solitude. Since Jor-El's AI is no more, now Kara and Clark can use the Brainiac drive (which SHOULD be inert and not malevolent since it's just an overglorified USB containing yottabytes of information on Krypton's history and other nearby planets), to have a fully functioning Fortress along with the AI replications of their long-gone parents.

I still prefer her Comice story how she as a early teen when krypton was destroyed and she got knocked of course and didn’t age until she landed on earth and I like how she doesn’t fit in as unlike Clark she remembers her home and the culture and struggles to manage her powers to where she seen as an outsider to earth so has no real love for them either, and she’s a little lost as her main objective was to protect Clark but he’s grown up just fine with out her , but this still does a great job of still using similar stories points but making it new and changing it just enough so it feels fresh and not a direct copy

This is a very good take on Kara; not the only very good take, but it definitely holds up. One thing the show was careful to do was make Kara sacrifice herself, what, like three times to make sure we know she's truly reformed. Any one of them them could have been a fatal sacrifice, though they opted not to make any of them fatal, and I'm glad.

I like this a lot because super girl is a mix of power girl. Feels like they fused the characters to make this one. As a black person I feel really happy that Jimmy is well written and not just some throw-in for diversity(stop deleting gingers). Power girl(not supergirl) pattern in dating chocolate dudes stayed too, so that's a big plus for me. I have high faith for season 3 because we was hinted at a lot of new potential villains and heros but my biggest fear is the fact that the bad guys need to be scaled up due to both superman and supergirl are fighting together unless they write supergirl out and she leave which I doubt. I definitely can't wait for more Jimmy x supergirl moments.

Also Smallville’s pacing is much slower than most animated shows, really all MAWS has to do is have the Legion show up in one episode and take the Brainiac core with them by the end then have Brainiac 5 show up in a later episode.

About the only thing I don't like with Kara is how she and Jimmy are presumptive boyfriend and girlfriend simply because they're in the same social group with no previous attachments; that sort of thinking is responsible for an awful lot of boys assuming that, if they have a friend-girl, she is destined to become a girlfriend. But I think they could fix that with like two lines of dialogue: Jimmy: Kara, are you sure you don't like me just because ... I'm one of the few people you even know? Kara: Jimmy Flamebird, I have met many people on your world. I like most of them. But, I still like you best of all. D'aww! Yeah, that'd fix it for me.

I definitely liked the season. I actually also think that tomorrow verse Supergirl is the best adaptation so far. Did feel it unnecessary her become basically the main character of season two

I am watching this months after it ended i watched the episode when ut came out but i think it would've been so muvh cooler if when the ship and brainiac got krptonite armour it was green not siliver like thats the iconic krptonite colour and its braniacs colour if he ever somehow returns i hope hes green

Dude, Lex is still like 20 and has barely just founded Lex Corp. It’s still way too early for him to lose his hair. I presume he’s going to lose it through extensive kryptonite research and being exposed to its radiation for too long. I miss the trunks on Superman. Superman without the red trunks is like a suit without a tie! Sure it can work, but it looks so much better included. Also, I really hope they introduce Batman sooner rather than later. The Batman in this universe would probably be pretty new and inexperienced, which we rarely see. This Superman interacting with greenhorn emo Batman would probably be sooo hilarious.

Did they ever explain why Kara is so tiny? Usually it's because she's biologically younger than everyone else. But her she's part of the house of El, so you'd think she'd be a similar size to her cousin. The only episode I've watched basically all the way through this season are the last two, because I only actually started seeing people talk about it around then. I did not know it was back on.

I would’ve just be a good reimagined because she is really different from the Score Material, what do you think of the second DC Super Hero Girls version of Super were just made her a tomboy, I also don’t think this version of Super girl wasn’t influenced the comics that much because She doesn’t have a father relationship with Brainiac and try to introduce one is going to be forced.
