Please please please, we need an old school 15 part project of Alec building a full suit of armor. I miss that format so
@Silly_Brain Жыл бұрын
Agree. But i want 15 parts just on the sabaton.
@patrickd9551 Жыл бұрын
Don't you mean 15 parts on each individual part of the armor and 20 episodes of putting it together?

I'm a retired silversmith and once had the privilege of working with the armorers in theTower Of London (UK). I was amazed to see them do everything I did with soft pliable silver and gold only in hard steel. These guys are amazing craftsmen.

Nice work, getting the shape and fit of armour right is such a subtle skill. The wrong curve in the wrong place can be painful to wear or use for any length of time. Armour pinch really hurts!

How long do you think it will take Alec to start a damascus suit of armour? The gauntlets would look nuts.

@cleverusername9369 Жыл бұрын
How would one make sheet Damascus, is that possible? Genuine question. I'm used to Alec making welded billets of differing metals to produce blades and stuff, would it be possible to scale that up to make Damascus sheets?
@garethbaus5471 Жыл бұрын
I am nowhere near the level of a professional armorer at working with sheat, but I have dabbled in dishing, raising, and planishing when making ladles and the basic concepts still apply.

We've been asking since you were in your first little shop for this and now it's here! Awesomeness. I dont think ive ever seen Alec happier than he was to be fitted for armor😂

This looks awesome. You should collaborate with Todd's Workshop, he does some incredible historical work!
@crisis53142 Жыл бұрын
he would really get good understanding of the historical details of a well fitted suit of armor if he does, hate to see him accidentally make some wall hanger nonsense.
@mauroyanniccari3473 Жыл бұрын
Todd would probably shoot it with arrows and bolts, much to alec's horror as he sees his work being tested and destroyed😂

@@crisis53142 Don't worry, Alec won't get any bad armour with Lancaster Armoury in control. They make historically authentic reproductions to a very high standard.

Ian LaSpina (aka Knyght Errant) also has incredible videos for anyone wanting to learn about why historical armor was made and shaped the way it was. His channel would be an amazing source of information if Alec decides to make more armor

It's cool to see that Alec is paying so much attention to the techniques and strikes. I like to see when he tries new stuff and experimenting but there is something different when you see him so focused on every single move and hammer strike.
@allonthefarm Жыл бұрын
I would love to see a series where you make a complete set of armor weapons and horse tack. It would be a lot of work and a long series but it would be an awesome journey. Alec, on a horse in a full suit of armor he made would be an epic finish.
