I mis parties , not because of all these popular ones that gone out of hand but the smaller much more fun ones , I remember a party where there whole house looked like bikini bottom from SpongeBob and looked really cool , I was really into building in meepcity but when they deleted the parties and the boombox features I kind of Quit playing and couldn’t get motivation for building. ☹️

Allegedly toontown rewritten is fine with meep city existing where they have had some contact in some way but I've always hated meep city because of its multiple direct rip-offs from one of my favorite Games of all time Disney's toon town and yes toon town rewritten That's technically a recreation of the original Game but since it's exactly like the original Game and the existence of town doesn't run by Disney anymore I really love to town rewritten In any case it's always been really unsettling that meep city even exists Couldn't they even mention in the description that it was based off of toontown online of course not because they want all the fame For an idea they didn't really create in any way shape or form

Yeah I do think that people were a bit too harsh on MeepCity and Alexneutron. I meant there are some things that he could've handled better in retrospect, but it does feel like people overexaggerated all the things he did wrong or didn't have much control over. Parties weren't really a bad idea or execution, it's just something that was unfortunately ruined by MeepCity's playerbase. Obviously the inappropriate parties were problematic, no questions there, but I don't think there was much that Alexnewtron could do to ban all of that himself. Fixing this would require either good moderation or just outright removing the feature. The latter option was chosen and now all the inappropriate parties are gone, but at the cost of all other fun parties that weren't harming anyone. Personally speaking my experience with Meepcity parties weren't anything crazy - it was either me making a party which was just my own house or a school-themed party were nobody wanted to teach anything - but I do understand if a few people did find them fun. I do agree that Alexneutron getting freaky to a Blue Yoshi isn't really that serious, like as long as someone isn't hurting anyone you can goon all you want during their free time, I don't care. Though you should probably make an private alt account for that instead of talking about it your public main account. That just makes you look weird and unprofessional, especially when the audience for your work consists of mostly kids. I think the worst thing Alexneutron did was back in the SocialMeeps era, with him just suddenly shutting it down and never refunding anybody who spent money on it, especially since some players spent a lot of money on what's now essentially nothing, just like you mentioned. Other than that he's not really that bad of a person as most people portray him as. Innapropriate parties weren't really his fault, he just didn't know how to fix them without removing the feature entirely. Maybe the Meeps could've looked more legally distinct from Club Penguin's Puffles, but I suppose that would be a late change now. Nowadays there's more popular social games on Roblox like Adopt me or Brookhaven, But I don't really care about these kinds of games anymore because I've honestly grown out of them. I might replay MeepCity and also Dodgeball just to see how they hold up today, though that's about it for what I wanted to say.

16:54 no, all these tweets you shown were from different timezones and very different in context, things were very different in that era, back then albert made trolling and making meepcity parties a trend and a lot of them would try to bait KZbinrs to join them, alex was basically aware about it but he knew during that time a lot of them were trolls and a bunch of other kids just trying to be in a video. Beds were readded after alex added a furniture update where you can interact with furniture (i think) Also alex was never a blue yoshi gooner, he didn’t even get exposed to anything as people always knew about it, and him liking blue yoshi doesn’t even make any sense on why he didn’t even do anything about meepcity, and as you can literally see it was a small phase where he was joking, that blue yoshi era didn’t last long. Also him being desensitized doesn’t make much sense, alex literally said in a tweet that he doesn’t support them but they just play the game and wanna know why he actually didn’t do anything? Alex was in every right to rely it all on roblox moderation, its a reason why roblox moderators exist, you can complain and blame alexnewtron all you want but just remember that you can’t argue because there was never a rule where roblox said developers need to take action in their own game, even if alex did took action players would find their ways around it and either way the players who were abusing the game with bypassed avatars would still be on Roblox which is why its their liability, alex never had to do anything as it was not his job to do roblox moderation, he simply had no control over player behavior or anything, its his choice what he wants to do in his game and what he wants to add, he has already tooken action in his game as well before but at the end, there was nothing to stop the situation as roblox moderation failed to keep its platform safe.

When small children are getting groomed in your game, it's no longer about *welp roblox mod is bad that's not my fault* cuz he is indirectly endangering kids. First, it was with the parties. Of course I don't expect him to predict what oders would do, but once it was brought to his attention, he was like "i won't remove this because user engagement, plus, barley anyone uses parties" (which is a lie cuz as soon as parties were eventually removed, the game lost A LOT of players). Then, even after seeing the main player base for his game (little kids and online daters), he decided to add a bio feature with NO attempt at adding restrictions what so ever, is that not careless to you?
