@@lapinus You might be thinking of Enter Sandman from the black album. The intro and main riff were on some cassette Kirk made jamming by himself in a hotel room in the middle of the night during the Justice tour. But through most of the 80's stuff, it was all James and Lars. Kirk would come in and do the solo's and that's it. Then Kirk would have to learn all the rhythm parts from the album once the album was finished lol. It really wasn't until Bob Rock and the black album that the band actually sat in the studio all together as a band and worked through the songs. Jack O’nory That’s not true. Believe me. There are a thousand types of metalheads, a lot of good people, but a lot of bad people too. There are way more racists, nazis, killers, real satanists in the metal community than you imagine. Some metalheads burned churches down and killed innocent people in Norway. Saying that everybody listening to metal is super nice is as much a cliche as saying every metalhead is a crazy child killer, and it is stupid. How many people complain when Christians or politicians attack us and say we are servants to the devil ? How many people are trying to explain the masses that this is just provocation, that we don’t really like dead bodies ? The objective of provocation is to get a reaction from people, so let them be scared ! We can’t write songs about Satan or cuming blood if we don’t assume that image. Anyway, you are probably a new metalhead, and you will soon realize that, like in every community, there are also bad people in the metal world. Wish you the best.

Does he said: Metallica didnt changed its heavy thrash metal style??? 😬

Their style changed, but he's saying their approach never changed, to always do something different

Metallica=My first real hardcore musical love. My son was born as The Outlaw Torn off S&M played in the background. His first video obsession was Moth into flame but The memory remains seems to be his favorite song-video now 3 years later. I can't wait to take him to see Metallica. Also James's name isn't James Hetfield Its Master and ONLY master in my son Apollos mind.

Gor'eepy Studios yea I’m calling bullshit unless your kid was born in a Guitar Center. No one holds off on giving birth so some dildo can out on an album.

Is your son's name Apollos or Apollo? Reminds me of the ancient greek god's name

I find it very hard to believe that James Hetfield doesn't remember who came up with the riff to master of puppets, I have heard several stories about them ripping ideas and even their name from other bands, especially in San Francisco.
@joshberridge37624 жыл бұрын
I remember seeing somewhere that that first riff was originally played on the d string then they said play it on the low e and i loved it. Was James's riff

It's because he doesn't like being the center of attention, he's very self-deprecating.

@Dale Denton Have you even heard anything else from them than just Stairway To Heaven? Their catalog is full of amazing songs: Dazed & Confused, Communication Breakdown, Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker, Ramble On, Immigrant Song, Black Dog, The Ocean etc. They're not called the best rock 'n' roll band of all time for nothing😉

I recall Metallica thanking Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles in the acknowledgments for the MOP record. Later on it occurred to me that the "heroes in a half shell" melody line was very similar to the guitar line in the chorus of "Puppets".

That was always my first thought during the chorus part. Glad somebody picked up on it too lol

The black album was their radio breakthrough. Enter Sandman was in regular rotation all over the country. It’s not my favorite album but it’s still really good. My three favorites, in order, are Kill, Justice, Puppets. I do not like St. Anger at all, but the others all have something I can enjoy. Hardwired is good for the first three songs.

*I remember a time outside a stadium when Ozzy got boo'd from Metallica fans. And I remember Metallica came out and reminded fans Metallica are big fans of Ozzy.* *Rock & Roll will never die. It came from jazz & soul with respect and inspired hip hop & rap to fight their way outta the streets with their own sound.* *Real Reel History...* Swag

When a big part of your reputation was being alcoholics early in your career, your memory is probably not going to serve you well later in life.

You just gotta create whatever music you think sounds good in your own opinion and play. There are millions of people in the world, someone is bound to like your music. The question is “Who?” or “How much people?” That’s for you to find out by continuing to play and just have fun with it
