Even though we are geographically flat, it just would not be economical (maintenance wise) to have really low sitting cars (lambos etc) in Barbados. Many of our main roads are really tiny as well rich in character (read: potholes). So would you really attempt to max out a lambo on a road the size of a lane filled with pot holes that can be many inches deep? Other corrections : When you said you were driving through the west coast you were actually in Bridgetown. For us the west coast (or platinum coast) would start from... Tamarind Cove Hotel (2:48). At (3:15) was the roadside view of the World famous five diamond Sandy Lane Hotel the pretty logo is actually says SL and had you stood up on the opposite side you would have a view of some of the more impressive luxury vehicles on the island. For a view of Million and Billion dollar villas you could have taken the right turn after that impressive wall and taken the road all the way to the top. A view up that road alone would have made your entire video.

actually it can it can be more than 150% import tax. Sometimes it can go pass 200% and that's not even all you have to pay. The tax depends on the engine size and type of vehicle. so for example the new Ford Focus RS would cost over well over $100k USD.

Here's the deal. Import duties, excise taxes and VAT on importing a vehicle into Barbados total 182.5% Therefore a car valued at $35,000 (US) would incur import fees of $63,875 (US). A poster earlier mentioned seeing a Rolls Royce. There are two of them, both owned by Sandy Lane Hotel. When they arrived, the newspaper headline read that the island had gotten its first million dollar cars.

Those Different Places Of Interest Right Here In Barbardos, That These Guys Had Taken Right Here In Barbardos, Look Absolutely Gorgeous. I Felt So Happy To See Those Beautiful Businesses, That Are Here In Barbardos, For The Wealthy Famous Lifestyle People In That Cartorgery, To Visit Made Me Feel Very Proud To See Such Beautiful Properties Exis Here, And They Will Sure Meet Those Wealthy Lifestyle People Requirements Here In Barbardos.

The main reason there aren't lambos and (there are a couple Ferraris) super cars is because are roads are so short and we have so many corners tat it would damage the engine of the car because it wont ever be able to go full force on our roads.

In many of these developing countries (as nice as Barbados is, they're technically developing), they tax you where they know they can get you. Taxes start on cars with a 1.6L engine, and go up by brackets. Nicest car I saw when I went to Barbados in 2013 was a first gen Cayenne Turbo. Their large proportion of middle class helps in affordability, and there is definitely an upper class market like what you saw.

+EA40 Barbados is not a developing country, it's rated as having a very high HDI, so is rated as a developed country. It's arguable whether that is the case or not, but they're the facts. Taxes don't really start at 1.6, they just increase significantly at 1.6. And I wound't say there is a large middle class really. The large majority of the wealth in Barbados lies in the white population, who by and large don't care for overly expensive cars, for tax and other reasons.

Some friends and I rented a house in Sandy Lane for 2 weeks a few years ago. The only cars I spotted were a Rolls Royces and an Evo 5. The cars have a huge tax and the roads are shit. Before you leave the island catch a ride on one of the yellow buses. It's an experience in itself.

Tax for the cars are even worse in Turkey. If the engines displacement is more than 2 liters its %145 and you have to pay additional %18 tax including the first tax you pay so a car that cost 100.000 £ comes up 289.100£ in Turkey

Incredibly surprised that as a car enthusiast you didn't go to see the Mallalieu collection on the South Coast near the Fairmont Pavilion. They have a collection of vintage cars- mostly vintage British cars. That's about as luxurious as you'd get in the island.

Pure criminal Barbados the poor people in barbados are rich people in many carribean and latin american countries. no plastic booltles and garbage all over our beaches like santo domingo no shanty towns like many of our neighbors. barbados is not a developing country, it is considered a developed country. free health care, and free education. It's educational system is second to none. most of the visitors to barbados are not hand to mouth people, they are usually rich people from europe. Barbados is a model country, and the Barbados dollar is pegged to the US dollar. never devalued their money to please the IMF. lowest murder in all the caribbean and latin america. barbados is the Gem of the caribbean.
