I got married less than a month after my 18th birthday and we are 33 years strong. Last night as we were getting ready for bed we were discussing how we could never find another partner to replace what we have. We’re it for each other. The life we’ve built together is one so connected no one else could replace. It’s been my greatest honor to be his wife. We’re praying for at least another 33 years. God gifted us to each other.

I raised my sons as a single parent. The Lord told me to raise them in the admonish of the Lord. They attended bible studies weekly from their adolescent years. They love the lord and have been obedient all their lives. They both are waiting for their godly mates because they know they have to be equally yoked. They learned to cook and do laundry. Thank you for your podcast and sharing the gospel to a world that has forgotten to put God first in their life. May God bless your ministry and family.

As a strong willed, capable, hard headed, red haired daughter, raised by her daddy to be strong and able, submission is a hard one for me to get my head around. But in submission to Jesus,, I find joy in submitting to my husband because I can clearly see that submission is how I'm about to compliment my husband's work and efforts. The respect and cooperation are key in this too. It feels very pleasing when you can see the, not only productivity, but the harmony, achieved in submission. As corny as it may sound, it is like a dance.

My church we just finished about a month ago walking through Peter's first epistle. One thing I love about all of the letters in the New Testament is they start off theologically and then move to practically. I believe that's how Peter also started off. And. like Al said, keeping it in context when he said :in the same way ...." Peter had been talking' about being submitted to Christ first. When you do that in the midst of the main theme of 1st Peter, which is the audience is scattered and enduring /hardship suffering.

May God be with you all. We have a lady in our church who is going through a divorce because her husband had been living apart from her, and she recently found out that he was living with another woman and her family. It is gut wrenching when marriages are in trouble. Yet the Lord is close to the broken hearted because His Word says so.

I thought I’d share what I learned about the scripture to do with “heaping coals of fire on their heads…” In the context of when it was written, you were actually showing love and helping someone when you filled their pot which they carried on their head, filled it with hot live coals, because it meant they could rekindle their kitchen fire that everyone had to keep alive and stoked in order to cook and heat their abode… folks had to rely on getting live coals from a neighbor if their home fire died…so this supports the rest of that scripture pertaining to loving each other.

12:25 Mrs. Kay I so understand! My husband doesn't hear anything I really want him to hear. But let me be talking to a relative or friend and he hears anything interesting said! I love the shows that you ladies visit. I'd love it if you all had your own pod cast where we could have a lady's bible study and hen session! I do get so much from this show. I love how the men did into the word and discuss it and esp. how they apply it to life today and their own lives. My husband and I have not had an easy way as a couple d/t my issues and our differing beliefs in the beginning. He is a blessing to me and I am grateful to God for sending him to me. I often don't feel I deserve him, as I have had so many problems and not really able to be a true wife with him. Now that we are older it's not such a big deal. Phil often reminds me of my spiritual Daddy Sam, a minster and his wife that took me in when I was ready to either die or get help for my addiction. I was done, so I thought. But they taught me how to live the Christian life, took me to church and was proud of their spiritual daughter. I'd never had anyone except 2 of my grandparents, to be proud of me. And I had yearned deeply all my childhood to go to church with my family I wanted to change and grow closer. Too much to go into, but I have been so blessed! And your pod cast continues to bless me and help me grow closer to God. Thank you all!

I had an unbelieving husband before our marriage. In fact he was brought up Catholic, and had fallen from even that belief system. He saw my transformation when I started getting sober and going to church and spending almost all my free time in my bible or with my spiritual parents bible at bible study or going to church with them. He wanted that change, that inner light and joy I was getting. And I softly and tenderly gave him pieces of my testimony until one morning he got ready and went to church with me. Oh what a glorious day! And the first time he felt the Holy Spirit move through him and not just watching the others in church, it broke that last barrier for him. Not long after he did marry me. I was 40 something and had had a hard life from childhood on. I wasn't a great catch...but he didn't give up on me. I had to give my husband complete control over my finances and gave up my car and did become completely homebound in my disabilities that ended my nursing career. That put a complete ending to me relapsing on that evil addiction I kept falling back into. I am happy to be rid of that evilness in my life!!! And I am relieved to not to leave my house except for going to the Dr. and my husband takes me and helps with the wheelchair. I sometimes feel like I am just waiting and desiring to go Home to Heaven now. I live in severe chronic pain along with the other health issues I deal with. I do not fear death, but look forward to it. I just pray that God takes me first, because I know I won't have any help, no family, no loved ones to help me continue to live and I don't want to take my life, but I do have a plan to go when my husband does. I know many will not think that sane or right, but I don't want to live without him. Been homeless many times as a young person, not going to do that now or later in life. God knows how I feel, and He has always been with me and I hope he can forgive me if I have to take my life. Sry if that hurts anyone, but know that I will do what I have to do.

Submitting to one's spouse does NOT mean become a doormat - for either mate. If you equate it to submitting to God, it's completely out of love and respect for one another.... Because He first loved us.
@ShawnNewell Жыл бұрын
I am so thankful for all of y'all and the examples that you are in your Christian walk. Truly you speak from the heart and with great passion to be transformed into the image of Christ. I would like to caution you, that there are cases of abuse where all the submission and respect and godliness you can muster, will not win over a spouse, but just set you up for more covert abuse. A lot of these people profess godliness but are wolves in sheep's clothing. Lots of wisdom and love required to differentiate these tragic circumstances from what we might call "normal" marriage issues with sinful people but relatively emotionally healthy...If Satan attacked Adam and Eve inside the garden of Eden, we would be foolish not to recognize the fact that he will attack our relationships inside our churches.... Great podcast. Love hearing y'all's practical application. Thankful again, for what. y'all do to bring lost souls to Christ and strengthen the flock.

Sell (give it all back in thanks to God as he gave it to you) all that you have and distribute to the poor...the poor in spirit who God wants to bless), and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me. (Not so you can tell a story in church someday.) How hard it is for those who have riches (rich in spirit confident in themselves) to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel (proud though painful experience to crawl on knees through the narrow gate to freedom) to go through the eye of a needle (narrow gate of camel yard) than for a rich (in spirit) man to enter the kingdom of God. ---- Rich is rich in spirit. The pride and self reliance vs reliance on God through capturing every thought to make it obedient to Christ in thanks and petitions...blessing others... 1 Pet 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
