How Missouri UPSET #1 South Carolina!

So, South Carolina, the number one ranked team in the country, just lost their first game of the season in an overtime classic to unranked Missouri. It was an amazing win for Mizzou, who took it up to the Gamecocks from the get go and held firm all the way until the end, winning the game with a layup at the buzzer. It is probably the biggest upset we’ll see all season, especially considering that Missouri’s best player wasn’t even playing and they were down to just 7 players for the match, whereas South Carolina were at full strength. So, how did they do it? What was done to prevent South Carolina from overrunning the Tigers? I’ll be covering that in today’s video.

I been watching SC for years and always thought they rely on the bigs too much and the lack of a knock -down shooter would come back to hunt them,Cooke is a off or on shooter not dependable on a daily basis, S.C. Needs A Consistent Outside Shooter. B3 its a bump in the road but Top teams now know how to get around that Bump.

I was at the game and you were right that Williams took it to Boston early and got her into foul trouble. This kept her off the court a bunch in both halves.

It’s funny that this ALWAYS HAPPENS when South Carolina goes to Missouri. The bigs get called for cheap fouls and have to sit for the majority of the game.ONLY IN MISSOURI!

Did not seem that SC a motivated for the game, expecting to win by being the better talented team. As one of the announcers mentioned SC was prepared for a different style game. Not bread and butter midwest hoops not exciting to watch but basic and effective. As Baller 3 said no big deal , but time to get back to the gym and work.

This isn’t a loss to lose sleep over. The mistakes we made are easily fixable and we’ll go on a tear now. Hopefully we get to see them again in the SEC tournament. Go gamecocks🐔

I must say, we see many teams pack their defense in the paint or collapse quickly in the paint against SC. But its something about the way Mizzou defended the paint that looked different. Even the guards, Beal and LA didn't have an easy time or much opportunity to carv and cut through the paint. That was an extremely close game but a well defended and coached one.

It all started going bad with the first foul on Boston. That was a bad call. Makes me wish a coach could challenge two fouls a game.

All of this is KARMA. Nneka Ogumike should've been fouled out during the 2016 WNBA championships. Bad call by the ref let her stay in and she made the game-winnjng shot, thereby destroying the Lynx's right to be the team with the most championship ttitles. Then Nneka gets denied a spot on the 2020 Olympics when she really was a shoe-in. Dawn Staley was head of that team. She had the ability to let Nneka be on the USA team but didn't. Nneka had won a WNBA championship she didn't deserve but the tables were turned and balanced by her getting a faceplate for the Olympics. Again. That was largely Dawn's doing. Now this happens. SC should've won but Karma has to do what she does. Dawn fugged Ogumike, and now she got screwed last night. Don't ever think that ya getting away with anything in Life. It might take months or years but Karma always knows ya address.
