One of the main issues us of the Diaspora have is thinking with a Western mind set about Africa. Some of us will be forever lost to Western culture (which in many ways was developed by us also.). The best thing to do is let the people who have adopted to that stay where they are and if you gain the have sight and desire to return to Africa then learn the people and the culture and go back.

I agree with you totally. In Africa, we tend to understand the world through the lenses f our colonial masters. What a shame. We also have a lot to the world but because we don't value ourselves, we try to be like other cultures. We dress like them, wear wigs, extensions, etc so that our hair can be like them. We in Sierra Leone don't even teach in any native languages. Some parents ban their children from speaking any local languages. Children are being born and raised here and not able to speak any of native languages! We call this civilised and educated!!!

Your position is factually & elegantly stated. Even in this video presentation, the _assumption_ that "democracy" is some superior construct...as in "Hey, Africans had it too", leaves a bitter taste. Prior to Anglo/Euro colonization, wasn't most of the continent ruled by various Kingdoms (Monarchies) and Tribal Empires? I don't think these were "democratic" systems...but I could be wrong. Why do feel we need to keep attempting to justify our human validity in comparison to the Euro/Anglo culture? Why is religious monotheism the default correct belief system? We continue to, as Malcom X warned us of 60 years ago, plead our case for justice to the very oppressor that victimized us. That's a special kind of brainwashing.

💯! The irony is, English is a dialect/patois because it isn't an original language. It is a basterdised version of various European languages and even some south east Asian language. I'm sure if we interrogate further, most European languages probably share similar origins, making them unoriginal. The more reason why we must teach African children their mother tongue and have a universal African language for all.

They even have the nerve to call themselves Christians. They have the audacity to claim that they are Africans, well they call themselves afrikkaners, but in reality, they are murdering, raping, genocidal, thieves guilty of crimes against humanity.

It's even deeper than that, imagine all the concepts lost in translation because European languages didn't have a word for what they witnessed. Even positioning African societies as the first to develop still colors us in a dim light in Western mindsets which are all about progress. If we are progressing then it is away from that African past which to them is like caveman days. So, saying we are the first is not a flex. That's why I always say don't worry about what they think. Just be the best of who you are.

We often forget that the portuguese &other europeans who first encountered our African ancestors had very little grasp of even the concept of true democracy as they all sprung from feudal monarchical societies.. The very idea of "chief-less" states was considered alien &an aberration to them &were that idea to reach back to european shores the royal spinsors of these expeditions sovereignty would be at risk.. Thus began the demonization of these complex varied & culturally intricate societies that persists to this day &Now ive seen more of our own people refer to any &all things Egyptian &even west african religion or otherwise as "satanic" "demonic" "black magic" than any white european.. so the damage is decidedly done.

Animism doesn’t contradict monotheism and animism isn’t primitive. At least in German research on animism in Africa it’s viewed as another characteristic of African traditional religions. So it would say that they believe everything is inhabited by souls (animism) whilst also accepting that there is a creator being and sometimes another being personifying the source/ the beginning of all, aka a transcendent god that is outside the reach of the human. Also animism is pretty unique to African traditional religions. Whilst many religions belief that things can be inhabited by a soul (e.g. Shintoism) they wouldn’t go so far as to believe everything has an inherited soul. So just because you heard it only in negative contexts and exclusively for African traditional religions doesn’t mean it’s something bad. That’s also what we in the Diaspora have to learn. But I do agree that the word „primitive“ is the result of racial bias.

Why I don't have a problem with Russia, that is all I'm saying. Brother, you know Eumelanin is a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory molecule, but did you know Olive Oil leaf extract slows down Melanin production? Slowing down Eumelanin production to feel better, means that chances are you just needed more UVB sunlight, Vitamin D, copper, cleaner diet, exercise and fresh air. Overall, there is a crazy list of natural foods, herbs and spice we black people consume each day that inhibits Eumelanin, and it's starting to make me a little worried. Inhibiting Melanin turning weak in the sun, and means inhibiting Tyrosine and Dopamine too. I don't think any gains outweigh those crazy natural free benefits, especially if all we needed was more sun and vitamin D to get better. Eumelanin is our communication to God, Universe, (present in the Pineal Gland) Earth, and all our brothers and sisters.

"Sub Saharan" is a crucial term and it must always be used. It is not fair on the Arabs for their culture and civilisation to be absorbed into Africa. The Sahara has shielded the Arabs, who want nothing to do (culturally, ethnically) with the Sub Saharan region. We do not want to be associated with it in any way. Egypt is not Africa. Libya is not Africa. Tunisia is not Africa. Algeria is not Africa. Morocco is not Africa. Thank you.

@@ArabSocialNationalist, This is not debate or argument. The term sub-saharan originated in the West and it was only used in terms of geographic's at first, sometime in the mid-20th Century it started to be used as an ethnic destination. My comment was only directed towards Black Scholars & them only, as you claim to be Middle Eastern then you do not apply. As I stated earlier this is neither a argument nor debate on this issue, so if you or Arabic people want to accept an artificial ethnic placement on themselves then that is your prerogative.

@@glennpeterson2477 But it is a useful term, isn't it? As a description, it does the job: there has to be a way to differentiate between the Arabs and the blacks. That is non-negotiable.
