I love watching Moist play because they remind me so much of Guard's Val roster. While Guard don't have a good reputation, due to the layoff situation, their entire Val roster fits what I think also makes Moist work so well. They're friends first, teammates second. They know when to hype each other up, how to keep the mentality strong, but also knowing when to play seriously and when to focus up. Each player synergizes so well with one another, and I seriously hope to see more of them in future seasons

Apex comms are absolutely insane to me. Seems like just about every team is hectic and screaming over eachother during fights. Massive difference listening to their engagements and listening to a Toronto Ultra in the CDL or OpTic Halo calmly talking to eachother like they're having a normal conversation. It sounds like if these Apex pros were able to calm down and not shout over eachother as much they'd be able to have cleaner, more successful gunfights

@@rolltthew7957 gotcha. I think your comparison to cod and halo is pretty much impossible. Those games are 1 team vs. 1 team. 4v4 only. An apex fight is almost never one team vs one team with zero influence from one or multiple other teams. Also apex fights become far less predictable. They can have any gun in the game while cod and halo are very limited in that regard. The variety there changes the way fights have to be approached especially since you don’t get that information ahead of time like those other games. Same with characters and abilities. Halo and cod don’t have these insane abilities that can swing the edge in a fight instantly. Plus you add in the map and ring pull from BRs. You fight in different areas constantly. Meaning specific pinpoint call outs like those other games is unlikely so you have to speak more in order to relay information where in cod you can say “top orange” cause there is literally only one spot on the tiny map that can be. Those other games are less complex meaning all the players really have to comm is where the person is who killed them. That’s pretty much it. There are some bits of strategy in some game modes but the plan of attack can be communicated ahead of time cause once again the game itself is predictable unlike the RNG of a BR. There is simply too much that needs to be said in apex to be a good team. BUT if you are criticizing their tone… I still gotta disagree here. There is urgency because this isn’t a respawn based game. In those games you can die 30 times and win. In apex you die once and at the pro level 99% of the time your game is done. There is more urgency because their ability to live matters WAYYYY more. It’s honestly impossible for apex comms to ever sound like those games because those games have a far more simple and predictable dynamic that requires way less cohesion as a team. In apex it’s generally impossible for a player to solo carry because they are facing 19 other teams. In cod or halo one guy can pop off for a 50 bomb and get you a win when the other 3 played bad

The lack of pinpoint callouts and there being a million different possible situations in a BR definitely makes having a more calm style of comms alot harder. And because of the stakes of only having 1 life, its understandable that the comms get so hectic. You hear the players being passionate about every move they make and its awesome. That said, Apex being a very new esport means we are literally watching the first pro teams learn how to get better. 10 years ago Halo & Cod teams all sounded insane with everyone screaming and getting turnt, its honestly only been the last few years where we've heard insanely calm comms out of the pros. And there's still a ton of teams in these other games who's listen ins can be insanely loud and hectic, but it still works for them. I'm not saying crazy hectic comms are a bad thing by any means, they've worked for cracked world championship teams for years. I think as the game grows we'll probably hear some teams get cleaner with the comms when in a fight in Apex. Hell, the team that Crypto EMPd Moist and dropped down on them in the last game in your video even sounded way more calm and precise with their comms, especially compared to other teams I've heard in your videos. Keep up the awesome breakdowns dude. I just started dabbling in ALGS because I stumbled upon your breakdowns of Snipedown & last seasons Faze team and thought the breakdowns and strategies are super interesting. Have been hooked on watching these. There's really only one guy in Halo, Shyway, and no one in cod that have game breakdowns even close to the work you're doing. Really cool watches and awesome insight my man
