For me it was just getting the prompt of "draw your DnD character", drawing myself as a bobcat (which I later changed to a caracal), and then later asking my sister, "does drawing myself a fursona make me a furry?" My dad, who overheard, answered with "if you're calling it a fursona, you're probably a furry." So I just accepted it. And here we are today, with me spending pretty much every day wishing I could be that fluffy cat I am in my head.
