I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

KZbin hasn't changed their monetization requirements. It's 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours to make adsense money with your channel. What they've done is lowered the threshold to join the youtube Partnership Program on a lower level. It's kind of confusing, but here's how it works: When you get 500 subs and 3000 watch hours you can apply to YPP. If accepted you can offer channel subscriptions, accept superchat money, thanks money (where viewers can give you money by pressing a "thanks" button on your videos), and you can offer your own products for sale. You don't get monetized for adsense until the 1000 subs/4000 watch hours.

Awesome video! To be honest that's why I don't know why people rush to get monetized you don't make that much and you guys spend a hell of a lot more than what you get back. Thanks for watching! It really hasn't been that much, but that is a big reason I wanted to share. So many other creators post their analytics after they have 10k + subscribers and not many share what it is really like when you first get monetized. I will say the biggest thing that changed after hitting the 1000k was the watch time hours. After going through the report, It felt like I was getting so many watch time hours after being monetized when I had struggled to get them before. I will keep you all updated though on how the money changes as that channel grows.

Hello Laura, congratulations on getting monetized (although it's a couple of months ago) and thank your for sharing this information. I think that expectations towards youtube monetization and also the amounts of dollars you can actually make are fairly inflated by big channels, so i guess it's important that people like you are sharing their numbers to make sure that content creators don't fall for that trap and start only focusing on the money side rather than trying to create good content. It was nice to see what small creators can make. I got monetized in May of last year but didn't fill out all my paperwork in time so YT turned off my monetization for like 4 months and I lost revenue during that time. I have my monetization back on but am earning very small amounts, like $1 a week.

Thank you for being honest! People get misled by the over hyped ad sense videos all over YT but they are few and far between. The truth is you need your views to be over 10K/day to earn good money on YT. I have similar subs to you and have been monetized for 3 months BUT I still haven't hit the payment threshold yet! It's a lot of work and literally no money.

That is very true, consistent high views are need to make real money on YT. My review has been monetized for a little bit now and even with some videos preforming better, it still takes months to reach the minimum $100 threshold and get paid.

Finally one about small KZbinrs just starting out. I'm trying out tiktok for right now. And when I used to watch videos of how to make money from doing KZbin or being a KZbinr, it was from people who already had a huge mass of followers and subscribers. So it was pretty much unrelatable. This is just my opinion. My husband tried creepypasta narratation on KZbin and dropped it shortly afterwards. One thing most platforms have in common, weather it's KZbin, tiktok, Instagram, it takes time to gain a huge audience organically. And most people now don't have the patience anymore. Most of the people who have thousands, millions of followers on KZbin, people are forgetting, they have been working on the platform for years, some even decades. I feel like people are looking at these platforms like the get rich crap. It doesn't work like that. It takes WORK to get noticed. And some of us, like myself don't feel comfortable showing our faces on the camera.

I agree, I think a lot of big creators can forget how hard it is and even forget how hard it can be nowadays that there are so many people trying to be successful on social media/ youtube. You only get paid if you earned more than $100. For example, last month I made only $53 and didn’t meet the $100 minimum so KZbin will hold it until I hit the $100 minimum again.
