Just the grind to get crafting up to max is hundreds of hours. I have one character I am basically only doing a crafting grind on. It is my explore and grind away guy. I haven’t done any missions and am level 20 with just gathering ore and plants.

Just started yesterday. Put 3 hours in and between the starting quests, trying to figure my way around and just grinding out the beginning of my gathering skills i am starting to love it. Getting back into console gaming so im not very good. This is going to be months for me just to get to end game.

Haven't played since launch. Made it to level 60 and then stepped away. Finally jumping back in with this soft re-release and I'm really enjoying it. The game got a nice face lift. Runs a lot better for me. Plus there's mounts now? I've missed a lot and have a ton of catching up to do, but I'm starting from scratch and working my way through the entire game again.

I'm new to the game. Good first impressions but started to feel boring on main story at 35ish. today I decided to queue for an expedition and not only it was super fast for a low level dungeon, but also it was a great experience! completely turned me around about the game. Will be my top 1 MMO on my XBox, and bought it for my wife's steam for PC so we can play together. cross play is high value.

SOME are fetch quests, many are chains with side stories of their own, many also have lore specific to the island

If your a bit of a completionist, there is 1000's of hours just to max your character. Take for example Heart Runes. You collect Heart Runes from the Dungeons, with each Dungeon giving a different Rune. You equip a rune and it gives you a "ultimate" ability to use during combat. You can level up your Rune by using crafting mats, up to level 4. It takes a fair pile of mats and time to max level a Rune. There are 12 of them, each with a different Ult. And not only that, when you go to "craft level" a Rune, you can chose from 3 different versions. So thats 12 Runes with 3 versions of each, all leveled up to lvl 4. 36 Different Runes. I am 4000hours in and have about 17 of them done. Then there are your carry bags, tools, fishing pole. If you want to have max efficiency at gathering mats, luck and other perks, you will want to have the max gear score of each of those items... it can be a hell of a grind, if you want it to be.

Yeah I think so I did try both other night. New World is just top quality looking for a MMORPG and has a more fun skill based combat system I found. Throne and liberty is free though so no harm in trying it.

I can still get behind idea that finally the overhaul's finished and they got the game to it's intended state, now they can move on to putting resources for more content. I mean they finally got this far even if it's late, surely they're not done yet. Even FF14 took 3 yrs to overhaul as well after a disasterous launch. Even GW2 took 5 yrs to introduce mounts behind a 2nd paid expac. It's totally normal in MMOs to stop playing after burnting through it all and just return only on the next conent drop. I do that with Gw2 and BDO for 7 yrs now.
