We all know what Russia wants in Ukraine, and they don want any piece of Ukraine, but they will take a half or all of Ukraine if Ukraine wants to be a satellite country for the US and NATO. Unfortunately, European countries are led by people who are not old enough to understand several things in history and how Russia works, and that's why we ended up here. The Ukraine war would have started a long time ago, at least 20 years ago, as far as Russia had been warning of NATO expansion. But Russia has been patient and understanding. It was the build up of American troops and NATO troops and war games in Ukraine that led to the war. 1963 Cuban missile crisis is the exact useful solution for ukraine, and the Hungarian leader knows that. The EU is not a monolith. The EU as an organization is more or less just a framework which a member state (or a region) may or may not be able to make good use of. Some are thriving, some not that much. I think those countries and societies that are ecologically-minded thrive quite to a large extent..

@@zoltanban6988 Sure, we got loads of stable democracies, multiparty politics, well organised and by every standard safe societies, a fairly high confidence in out institutions, we got free health care in most places, state pensions, not too high unemployment rates, modern cutting edge societies, well educated people that are environment conscious. There are many more good things to say. But just think about how far and how good we have come since the 70's when so many countries were under the rule of dictators, other countries bogged down by national debts. Right now we are cruising, life has never been better. The justice system is well functioning and we have the EU as a final arbiter. This is good. Europe is doing very very well, a beacon of hope for the world. No other place on earth has the art of making a society figured out as well as we. Doesn't mean it is perfect, its a work in progress, but Europe is doing well.
