This is awesome and thanks for sharing this! It was a good find as I was considering an EX purchase to swap. Si prices are too rich for my blood but I also never had intentions of leaving it stock so why throw the money away. Between full aftermarket suspension upgrades (coils, camber arms, tie rods, big brake kits, etc) and an FBO engine swap + transmission, I didn't see the point of even buying a running car whether it be EX or Si. If I manage to find a stripped down shell on a dollie, it will be a dream come true.

Let this be a lesson to any one looking to do this take notes! Do your research 5 times over. Id like to k no more about why timing chain and trans had to be redone after they were installed my self (bad trans didnt know?) If the mt was bad b4 that sucks dropped 600 on a bad mt :(. Yall did it tho good job 11k is pretty steep but the knowledge is pricless😊

Before installing the engine and tranny i had a mechanic friend who checked the tranny and timing and said everything was good. After installing the engine i find out the motor was out of timing and 2nd gear shift fork was broken. Thats why i had to do repairs after it was installed. Yeah unfortunately it was $11k i’ll say $1k-$2k was just replacing new parks that were broken or damaged when they arrive, another $1k-2k was other things in the car that i just decided to upgrade but still a lot higher than expected.

I have 09 si my K20 is in good condition with 200k but I have TSX Type S K24 low mile getting prepare for next year with K20vtc swap and RSX type S oil pump ebay FBO. The last year of raw power Si 🤘🏽Fun cars to drive around City of Miami

@@FR11 tye motor was from a friend and the transmission i got cheap just needed a few things. Was about a 3hr drive to pick it up but i wasn’t complaining! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

I bought it from a friend of mine.

It was also cheap because it was a plain motor. No engine harness, no alternator, no coils, no crankshaft pulley, no ac compressor and a lot of other parts also didn’t come with. I went this route because i knew i was going to buy all of those external parts new. Normally if you buy a motor for a $1000 or more it comes basically ready to be dropped in. Some even gives you the ecu as well.

What about the CVT transmission? Did you dump that or did you find a way to work around it.

The r18 Cvt tranny is not compatible with the k24. I sold it.

You can make the swap cheaper by not buying all those parts i did new. It will dramatically drop the price but i wanted the majority of everything new! From bolts to sensors etc. i also decided to go full bolts on with also a tune. That price also includes my skunk 2 racing shocks. Not really part of the swap but i did it during the project. Also that includes all the shifter cables i bought like 3 or 4 sets at the end it was definitely way higher than Expected but hey i learned a ton.

Sounds good! I have no complaints. No nasty sound or anything like i have heard. Mine is catted that’s probably the reason. Supposedly the ones that are catless makes a specific annoying sound. Mine doesnt. Thank God!
