I have never seen any 2 people more excited about building a k series that these guys, and I'm glad I found this video. I'm building my 1st k series, a k24a1, and I got an RBB-3 head for it. I took the valvetrain out and all the pins n springs fell out just like he said. I'm going to put a type s oil pump on it too. lucky for me I don't have to cut it.

The later tsx engines burning more oil has to be a change in valve seal material because they ALL have bad valve seals. If you are getting the seals replaced anyway, any year SHOULD be ok. With everything you did to this engine, literally just about any K series will be safe. Great video and it really is very informative.

Jroc asked how the valves are cleaned. At my old cylinder head shop we used a tumbler that used pea sized shot with kerosene. The valves came out as nice as new every time, ready to have a new face and tip cut. We'd also throw the springs, retainers and keeper in with them. The keepers were put inside something we called an "egg" that was basically two PVC caps that screwed together, with small holes drilled all over it to allow the kerosene in.

My K 20a2 a later one w/o factory dual springs. Thanks Bro in advance. Peace

It was mentioned that these engines all burn oil but especially the 04' and 05' models. I noticed my 04' uses between about 1.5 quarts every 5,000 miles. Is this a normal amount? And why do these engines specifically burn oil? Im new to the k series scene (a little late to the party lol) but i love the daily driving performance potential of them.

Kswap is cheap as F for Hondas.. a k24a2 is less than a grand. Try swapping into a rwd platform, thats when it's spendy. I want a k rx8.

not sure when we would build a b series, its just dollar for dollar you can get the k series to make the same power for cheaper!

@@sonic_203 I can’t comment price on my build. It was done maybe in 2001 after my 98 ITR was stolen. That made 207 with bolt ons. The high compression build was a sponsor funded effort by Manley Performance. I know people there and live minutes away. I’d love to build one with ITBs now. But finding a decent hatch these days is impossible and you buy them all.

8:40 I've always wanted to strip and rebuild an entire engine only using an impact, would be a fun little experiment to see if it works (or how much you ruin)

Can you make a boost series similar to this? Like what all is needed for a 300/400/500 supercharged/turbo K? I'm putting together a supercharged K24 and pretty severely overwhelmed lol.

I just did this for my 04 EP3 K24A2 swap I don't know if I'm just missing the video but I had a question on the oil pan. What's the correct steel oil pan for the type s pump swap on this motor, the dimpled (RSX Pan) or the flat bottom (06 TSX Pan)? Thanks in advance ✌
