The overall cost of IVF was such a mystery to me as I am sure it is for so many others. Each case is different and will vary per each person’s unique journey, doctor, facility and location. In this video I will give an overview of how much I paid for an IVF cycle in hopes that it gives you an idea of the potential average cost. Such a high price for happiness 😔 I lucked out and I have Cigna. I have a 40k infertility lifetime max and 10k lifetime max through cvs care mark for infertility medications. My whole treatment only cost $1700.00 for everything.

Absolutely agreed friend! I wish I would have known about many of the out of pocket expenses prior to starting. I truly believe that all states should require insurances to cover fertility treatments!

hey hun!!! i'm a new follower and also in the process of SMBC. Here in Maryland I have Cigna, and they covered my IVF 100% . I did pay $3500 for PGS testing and a percentage of the total cost for meds (about $140). Keeping posting sis!!!

I live in Maryland also and my insurance is BCBS but they only cover the diagnostic testing part and not the actual procedure 😩. I’m not even sure if they will cover any part of the meds.

@@MsDani_HazmatChick Omg thats tough!! I couldn't imagine having to pay all that money out of pocket. But...... If you have deferred comp with your job, you can withdraw from it without penalty due to Covid.

I’m also in the Houston area but we traveled to New York for IVF. I didn’t know San Antonio had a clinic with prices like that! The cheapest I found in San Antonio was like 14K. I rooting for you, Jarvis, and Ezra!

Thanks for the video! I’m about to start the ivf process at the end of may. Like you I have no coverage for anything fertility related. I’m finally about to switch from IUI to IVF so I’m getting my research in. I have a question if you don’t mind answering. You mentioned PCOS and other issues. Do those things contribute to cost of the medication? Like if you didn’t have those things would your medication cost would be less, right?

I have blue cross blue shield of Massachusetts and they covered my entire IVF. I only paid for genetic testing out of pocket. I guess every state is different in coverage, good information to know 😊

every state is different. Massachusetts is one of the states where it’s required for IVF to be covered by insurance.

Sadie and Jarvis Yup your right! I didn’t know until I started IVF and I was so happy when I found out. A lot of other ladies can’t believe it when I tell them I literally paid nothing for my IVF treatments.

@@AliciaLatrice I live in Illinois and also have BCBS and they paid for my fertility treatments as well. Just like the other person mentioned, I only had to pay my Co pay for medications which were no more than 20 or 30 dollars. I didn't get genetic testing though, that I would have had to pay out of pocket for. I also paid out of pocket for the frozen storage fee for the embryos which was less than 700 for a year. So I yeah I've practically paid nothing. Just did my 2nd FET. On day 3 post transfer so keep your fingers for me please 🙏

Hi friend! I have severe PCOS so based on that and some other health issues I've faced I would not be able to naturally conceive on my own without implantation support (frozen embryo transfers).

Damn girl that is a outrageous cost just for one round of ivf. My clinic here in ohio self pay is 8963 and since im older my medications will cost between 4000 and 4500. So the total cost for me to do one ivf cycle will be 13000 to 14000.

Very much so! The cheapest base cost I found in the area was around 15k but that still didn’t cover meds, PGS testing or the speed donor 😩

I struggle with severe PCOS, so i go a year+ without having a menstrual cycle so because of irregular periods, high testosterone and some other factors IVF is the best protocol for me when it comes to trying to conceive ♥️
