How Much Did My AliExpress Super Bike Cost?

In this video I breakdown how much my AliExpress superbike cost. The Hygge Model S was almost fully built using parts from AliExpress except for the saddle and cassette (bought used locally), and the tires (given to me). For a sub-$2k USD bike, it beats the insane prices of name brand bikes.

Frame ,50mm wheels, handlebars, 12sp carbon groupset with carbon levers, carbon seat from another supplier as my carbin helmet . I too changed cranks from 170 down to 165 from another supplier. Awesome the Elves was a contender when I was looking for bike frames but I settled on the Hygge. I like the supacaz tape. The end caps had rusted screws though but that’s probably why it was cheaper

Nice build love that frame and the paint job. I recently built my first road bike, but I went a different route. I got an aluminum frame with external routing and made it 1X 11 using a Sensah SRX Pro 1x11 groupset with a 48T Chainring and 11-36 Cassette. I also got no name, carbon seatpost, fork handlebars and saddle. I took the spare road Elitewheels ENT wheelset from my gravel bike and put on Panaracer Gravelking SS 700 x 28C. The bike total weight with pedals and a single bottle cage 19.37 lbs. The whole bike is steath black with the exception of the chain, cassette and rotors. And total cost was about $1000. This was my first bike build and I think its awesome that I bullt the bike instead of just buying it. My only complaint is the brakes. Even with compression less housing, the brakes are not as good as a fully hydraulic brake system. Maybe in the future i get a hydraulic groupset instead.

What brake housing did you use? You're not light at 75kg, so if you start doing real descents, you may want to make sure you get as good a performance as you can with cable actuated disc brakes. I installed keb-sl jagwire housing, except when I ran out. It's not a myth, the keb-sl is much less spongy, so it ought to brake better. Pads and bedding matter too though. I'm 82kg before bottles and kit, I have cable discs on a gravel bike and I've been in really sketchy descents. My front disc is blue, I don't want to know how hot it gets, and I really don't know if I would be able to use non keb-sl housing given I'm a fat pig. I do know I don't want to find out though :)
@henrychungfitness
@henrychungfitness 6 ай бұрын
I believe I used the lowest grade of Jagwire 😂 it’s true the braking isn’t the best, but that’s on my list to upgrade pads and rotors one day, and even housing (but that’s the bigger pain because of the integrated handlebar). Thanks for the tip though and ride safe!

So far it’s been good. My headset did seem to loosen a bit as I ride pretty rough roads and gravel, but I’ve since torqued the expander plug tighter. There is, and your entry point is so much lower that even if you lose more in % terms, you lose less in absolute terms. And if the buyer gets to try the bike to check how it performs, then you're good. It does imply physical sales though, remote eBay stuff would be sketchy indeed, a lot of people don't know what they're doing when they build these bikes.
