I figured I’d make a how to video for this setup since I haven’t really seen much on KZbin yet. Let me know if it helps 🤙

new frame??? any info about the shun wheels with carbon spokes? Great content!
@henrychungfitness Жыл бұрын
Yes new frame from about 4 months ago! Feel free to check out my unboxing and build videos. Unfortunately I don’t have info on the carbon spoke Hygge wheels but I saw they recently got UCI certification which is pretty neat 👌I’ve reviewed the 2024 Shun wheels (non carbon spoked and cheaper version) which are pretty nice wheels so far

Did you expand the plug before you added the top cap?
@henrychungfitness Жыл бұрын
Yes, don't forget to expand the plug before screwing the top cap. I've mentioned it at 6:05

Thanks a lot, I didn't know you have to let some space for compression plug expansion! Thx!
@henrychungfitness3 ай бұрын
Yes! This will create enough of a gap to make that compression 👌

and how mutch torque nm for stem expander and handbar stem bolts?
@henrychungfitness27 күн бұрын
I use 6-8Nm for the expander plug, and 6Nm for the handlebar stem bolts with loctite.

You should get a longer compression plug. With the spacers you have underneath your stem, that plug should sit 1/2 inch below the top bearing in your head tube just to be on the safe side. Also, I personally recommend a 5mm spacer on top of the stem. Just some food for thought. Ride safe!

@@dwaynepedals thanks for the recommendation! I’ve had a much longer compression plug as you mentioned for a while now and it’s been solid so far. For the 5mm spacer on top, what would you recommend that for?

Hello Henry, Thanks for this videos assembly the bike, really good diy. About the compression plug...i think its not safe that way...remenber about sl7 and what specialized did with new compression plug... That is just in the handlebar not deep enough, and that was the problem with sl7. I bought Chinese frame, unfortunelly i Saw tour videos after otherwize i would have One hygee also 😊 I bought 1 c.plug in AliExpress similar to sl7...my frame is sl7 similar not replica😊

Hey thanks for bringing this up! I did some digging and it seems that part of the issue was a non-chamfered compression ring in the SL7 (based on Hambini’s review). The Hygge compression ring didn’t seem sharp, but I guess time will tell 🤞
@JorgeSantos-zk6ju11 ай бұрын
@@henrychungfitness beside that problem, and this is me saying... The compression plug is just on the top and almost to the end off the stem, above stem its spacers but should have some extra inner protection, thats what specialized did, strenghten the fork, also because they make Holes to the brake cables. As i Said...its just me saying 😉 and that is the handlebar and we make a lot of pression on it...

@@JorgeSantos-zk6ju that’s a good point. I’ll have to see how it lasts over time. I forgot to measure the expander plug relative to the stem + spacers to see where it interacts.
@JorgeSantos-zk6ju11 ай бұрын
Its just below the stem...its in the video...the plug its almost same size of stem.

What brand of your handlebar?
@henrychungfitness10 ай бұрын
This is a Hygge handlebar that came with the frame, but I've heard you can get the same handlebar on AliExpress from other sellers/brands.
