I think you are a very honest and open couple, I can’t think of many videos I’ve seen where the u-tuber gives such a financial breakdown. I am a subscriber to you but wouldn’t join a membership with anyone. I like your reviews because of your honesty but only watch if it’s a product I’m interested. Perhaps others are like me, we have gained experience and goods and don’t need as much general advice and new stuff! Also I’m not looking to change vans so my main interest is in your tours. Much enjoyed your trip to Denmark and again your honesty when things go wrong. Every long tour we have been on we have highs and lows, punctured tyre, leaking roof that sort of thing, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who makes mistakes while driving. Anyway thanks for what you do, looking forward to next year.

I appreciate your honesty in showing this video and revealing the costs/benefits of producing your videos. I watch and enjoy your 'arriving at' and 'highlights in the area' videos because I travel in a motorhome, but in Australia, so I will never see the places you show except through your videos. I also enjoy your product reviews because you review them from a motorhomer's point of view. The motorhome show videos are less interesting to me because most brands/models are not available here, so of interest only, and I don't watch them all. The fact that you get some compensation from KZbin and from the product suppliers (in goods to review) pleases me as some compensation for your efforts. The subscription costs me nothing, and viewing only costs me ISP data so its win, win from my point of view. Thank you and keep up your good work. Ray

You were the first KZbinrs we subscribed to when we bought our Moho over three years ago and we remain loyal. The info and advice we get from you has always been great. We really like your product reviews and we’ve bought some products purely because of your thorough explanations and opinions. Our viewing is restricted purely by finding time to watch for us as we both still work plus we have also subscribed to other Moho KZbinrs - yes there are a lot more nowadays so definitely more competition but please don’t stop what you do, unless it becomes not worth your while for the time you put in. I have no problem with whatever you earn and appreciate the time you both put into this. It’s also quite personally intrusive for you and people can be rude unfortunately. We go to France annually in our van so tend to watch vlogs that show travel abroad but also like seeing the site reviews in the uk. We just haven’t been able to catch up with all of your vlogs as yet -maybe we’ll catch up our vlog viewing over Christmas

I like how you do the analysis and evaluation... One other statistic to consider is driven from outside of KZbin... Channels that focus on a particular activity also depend on how popular that activity is at any given time. So, for example, if the sales of camper vans, motorhomes, caravans and use of campsites reduces, then the general activity environment brings a lower viewership propensity. We've gone from market that has been over-heated during and immediately post-pandemic to a very cost conscious buyer pool. In marketing terms, it might be worth testing a mini series on how to save money when camping. In other words tuning-in to the change in market sentiment driven by economic conditions.

The issue is with KZbin ads I think. I often find myself clicking away from videos because I can’t be bothered to wait for the intrusive ads to finish. They’re getting longer and longer, and they even try to deceive you into thinking you can skip them in 20 seconds only to show you another one immediately. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I’ve noticed a growing trend of this on KZbin. I understand that this is how businesses operate, but it’s getting frustrating. It’s not you; it’s KZbin. Additionally, I’m tired of seeing the same advertisement repeatedly every three minutes. Even terrestrial television doesn’t do that. I genuinely enjoy your videos. I’m delighted to see that you’re doing well due to all your hard work.

Hi Bob And Jenny We are of a similar age and therefore have similar interests when we go away in our leisure vehicles. My wife and I are caravaners so the arriving at videos and the places of interest around a particular site are the videos that we like the most. We don’t tend to watch the show videos because we probably won’t be buying a Motorhome. I’am a gadget person so I watch some of those videos. What I’m trying to say is that if it’s a motorhome channel your subscribers will have that interest and any deviation from that subject however slight will have less views as it’s more of a niche market. Our experience of recent sites is that they seem much quieter than previous years, some say its prices of pitches but foreign holidays and cruises seem to be well booked so I don’t think it’s quite as simple as pitch prices. We’ll have to see what this year brings for our pass time. Don’t get disillusioned your videos are very good, great delivery, quite professional, honest and interesting so keep going.

In terms of views, I think given the number of motorhome/campervan KZbinrs, it can be hard to keep up with everyone all the time. I do find that, for example, quite a few are vlogging the NC500 or the North Atlantic Way at similar times so you tend not to watch all of them. Similarly, NEC shows. Product reviews appears to another area where several KZbinrs are showcasing power banks, electric bikes etc at the same time. Again, you may watch one or two but not all. I think the fact that your subscriber numbers didn’t increase as much this year is more down to the fact that the motorhome bubble seems to be slowing down. Judging by the amount of stock that dealers now carry compared to recent years it seems that people aren’t coming into motorhoming in the numbers they have been. Whether this is down to the price of motorhomes these days or if it’s down to campsite fees is a whole different discussion.

The Camping and Caravanning Club Site - Loch Ness Shores on the shores Loch Ness is open until January 3rd. A site near a loch that is open all year is Glenmore near Aviemore. Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond says it is open till January 30th. Easy walk into Luss village.

Also, what I have found is with many of the channels that I have subscribed to, have either not notified me when new content has been released or it has totally been that KZbin has unsubscribed me from the channel as well. Totally agree with what you are saying with saturation on KZbin, think many people are fed up of watching normal tv and even some of the subscription channels such as prime and Netflix is that people have got bored of those too. Just to say that I do appreciate your videos which have given me a lot of really useful information. I always look for an arriving at video when i am planning trips. And as a retired HMRC person I would be of the view that the items you are given in return for reviews would be taxable, the difficulty may be in arriving at an appropriate value. Best wishes!

Love your videos, I find the "arriving at" videos really helpful and I think that they were probably the key to your success. With regard to the income from KZbin, do you see the cost of the campsite fees as a cost that offsets some of your income or do you just see them as a way of having lots of holidays?

Thank you. The great thing is that the income from KZbin helps pay for all the sites we visit. We simply wouldn't be able to go to as many campsites as we do without it!

It is based on the number of views but you only earn revenue based on “ad views”. A viewer needs to watch an ad for at least 30 seconds for it to count. So how long a viewer watches a video is important. The amount paid per view is also based on the niche, location and subscriber count. www.thinkific.com/blog/youtube-money-per-view/
