Everything is relative, isn't it? I mean, if it won't burn the roof off of your whole mouth, then ... frankly, Thai people really will tell you (in ALL sincerity and earnestness!) that something really is not all that hot or spicy. And, they won't be purposefully trying to trick you, either. Just that they are accustomed to their food having a mule's kick, is all.

Eating in Thailand is so wonderful and cheap. My favorite breakfast is a rice porridge with pork or chicken called Jok. Try the Roti from the street - also known as banana pancake. Try the Thai BBQ hot pot places known as Moo Kata where you pick your own meat and veggies and cook them at your table.

Also i hope you guys didnt get any of the whitening products in the lotion. It isnt SPF, its a chemical bleach and can discolor your skin, i had a makeup remover that didnt say whitening but still left my skin lighter than normal. The reason they want light skin is because it symbolizes wealth (working in an office, vs farmers are in the sun) If you need lotion grab some coconut oil ;)

The groceries are super cheap and will be even cheaper if you discover a fresh market. Thai food has so many ingredients, kudos for finding that tom yum pack. I think that you can use the tamarind sauce for green papaya salad(som tum) as well.

Tom yum soup has 2 types 1.clean soup (protein+water+tomyum set that you bought+mushroom) 2.thick soup (protein+water+tomyum set that you bought+mushroom+chilli paste+coconut milk+) Don't use Shitake Mushroom because its smell will destroy Tomyum . Use Straw mushroom or Phoenix Mushroom instead. The different of Tomyum and Tomka, Tomka has Galangal and coconut milk way more and don't use chili paste. ps. great vlog!.

Nice to see a "normal" day, not chasing a tour or finding some interesting sights... By eating first, somebody (possibly Ash) didn't get to fill the cart up with icecream, just a couple of snacks... ;) It may be bursting your bubble a little, but Red Bull (GmbH) is an Austrian (not USA) company created to bring Krating Daeng to the western world... Original Thai inventors have large stake in both entities... Pringles are made in Malaysia for Asia Pacific region and there are some interesting flavours if wanna go hunting... :)

I loved seeing the market, how neat that they had such an expansive place to eat in the back. Had someone at your apartment not told you, maybe you wouldn't have found it. It seems so many countries you travel to have those hidden gems, little restaurants that are amazing but take back alleys to get there. Cutting the food with the scissors cracked me up! One of my good friends is a Christian Missionary in Chaing Mai, has lived there 17 years now and she visits the US once a year and misses beef, she says it's almost impossible to find in Thailand. Have you noticed that too?

They are very easy to use. Just take a look at the BTS(skytrain) or MRT(subway) map online. Both systems are separate, though they do connect at certain locations(BTS Asok & MRT Sukhumvit as an example.) You simply buy a card/"coin" based on distance and get on/off. For the BTS, you can purchase a Rabbit card so that you don't have to wait on line every time. The rive taxis are also easy to use. You simply hop on/off at whatever stop you wish.

I do feel bad for people who can't handle spicy foods - it makes it hard to travel to some countries and enjoy your meals! I am lucky that way - I love to add chill or hot sauce to a lot of things - it is kind of an addiction!
@caragio5 жыл бұрын
Haha. I'm Thai and I also can't handle spicy food. Since the 'measurement' of each person is different. You should say 'Mai Sai Prik' (No Chili) to make sure they don't put any chili into your food.
@stevegreir235 жыл бұрын
Saying "mai sai prik" could radicaly alter your dish. Many varieties of chilli are not spicy. Far better to say "mai pet" or "pet nit noi" if like it a little spicy.

Coming from Australia I was shocked how expensive food was from supermarkets in Phuket. In general food and alcohol was more expensive then Australia. Cigarettes how ever were 1/3 the price, about $7 a pack. McDonald’s and Burger King was about $15-$20 a meal lol.. Crazy. Same for coffee $5! Price gouging seems to be state sponsored.

Love you both❤️🥰😃 blessings and safe travels.

From Wiki: Red Bull was founded in Austria in 1984. Between 1984 and 1987, Red Bull GmbH modified the formula for Krating Daeng to better match European tastes by carbonating the beverage and making it less sweet. The brand expanded throughout Europe during the early 1990s, exploding into the United States market during 1997, grabbing 75% of the market within a year. Expanding its distribution to over 171 countries, the company sold 5.2 billion cans of Red Bull in 2012, making it the world's most-consumed energy drink.
@WAYAWAYWithAsh5 жыл бұрын
Whaaaat! SO aside from assuming it was a US company, with our combined opinions we were totally spot on with the flavor profile! Cool!
@happyshot4855 жыл бұрын
Original redbull was founded in Thailand more than 50 years ago , during that time the founder of Austria was working in Asia with Dietham, he was not the founder but he modified the formula and expanded all over the world right now.
@valsphone95625 жыл бұрын
Your Wiki is wrong. Red Bull was born in Thailand and has been in Thailand since the 1950's. Dieter Manchiewitz went to Thailand and gave the Thai owners a 49% stake in his Austrian company for the trade name and recipe which would be Red Bull GMBH.

Tom yum soup is suppose to be with chicken and prawns and noodles. I am not a tofu fan as it has no flavour. However I like it spicy and yes my nose runs and eyes water but it so delicious I make it twice a week. Always have it for lunch. I make a lot of different soups but I prefer the spicy ones. Which is strange as I cannot eat hot curries but Chinese/Tai hot is great for me. It must be wonderful to have all those fresh ingredients to make your meals, I have to go miles to buy some of the spices and vegetables I need for things as our supermarkets don’t sell them although they are getting better. Enjoy your meals I hope Josh does the washing up??

Windflower Thai supermarket usually provides big shopping cart for customer could buy more. If you see a small cart, it is highly likely that supermarket provides more than one size cart. Sometimes there are three or four types of cart available. Only some specific days of a month, you have to bring your own bag. Thai gradually familiars with no plastic bag.
