Just to clarify...Entry level 10-15k/month for 4-5 years in any random chamber. There are very few Law firms as compared to US/UK and cracking them is really tough. Most have NLU criteria.

All of this depends on where you practice law and what your field is. In litigation, the top senior lawyers in Delhi earn between 20L-1Cr per day. To all of you wondering that if this is real let me explain the amount which they said is true because there are senior most counsels in our country who charge 2 to 5 lakhs per appearance and they may have 25 appearances monthly or even more appearances in total yearly and the pay would purely based on the win ratio and the talent , reputation, popularity, skill, experience of the senior most counsel. It’s not fixed amount but defers from person to person and depends on the practice area and the issue itself. Who knows one day even these guys could earn that much. If we dedicate ourselves to the work sincerely and passionately the money would automatically follow. Ps: I have personally seen and known senior most counsels who get least 2 to 3 lakhs per day at-least for 20 days in a month so these numbers are not fake.

okk to all those stupid people out there i only want to say that there are a term called corporate lawyer who earn really well if u have worked hard and got one of top nlus . take the example of my brother he passed from nlu got scholarship in ivey leauge collages and now he earns above 3cr early at just a age of 27 i think he has achieved a good start and with experience he can earn much more . because partner in top law firms earn around 80-90 crore yearly but like other law firm doesn't disclouse its pay scale . AND THIS IS ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING EDUCATION PROFFESSION

​@@aryandev20 In law firm you are an asset. You generate revenue by billing clients for your work. Your clients will vary and you will have multiple clients. Work is more hectic, hours are more. There will be other lawyers of various levels at the firm too. Pay is higher. In house counsel means legal advisor to a single company. Only you will be there for one office of that company. You will deal with non legal people and may have to explain things to them in simpler terms. You pay is lower. You might have to represent the company in courts. Hours are lesser, pay is lesser.

let me tell you why don't people know how much an advocate earns in litigation? Cause they take hard cash so there's no track of how much they are earning & there's no tax issue or legal issue, yes! you can say it's black money but that's how the world works. A lot of advocates are filthy rich (but not on paper). Yes! They make more than corporate lawyers. also it is true that some advocates don't make much, but only at early stages. Btw i'm a llb student. Also one more thing is to make money in the legal field, you have to be around some bad people & have to be business minded.

Let me clarify this. A case may only get 10-15 dates a year and only if a case is fast moving, it may get 25 dates a year. Most senior lawyers appear only for the main arguments. At an average of 15 appearances per case in a year, it would take 20 cases to get 25 appearances a month. Also, not all will be handled by the Expert and at least 70% is attendend and handled by the Junior.
