The cost of living in Malta is going up. In todays video i made interview with local and foreign people asking them how much they spend on groceries per month in Malta. I was surprised to hear that some foreign people spend around €50 per month and other €1200 per month. Clearly the cost of living in Malta is going up. If you want to save money on your groceries, you can shop online in Malta using: www.cheaptroll...
And you can also download the app on your phone

same setup, I spend at least 700. all from pavi. water, groceries, detergants, everything included. nothing luxury. I cant believe how people spend only 30-50 euros/month. everyweek I spend around 20 euro just for cheese. even for 60/month, it equals 2euro/day, what can you eat for 2 euros for breakfast, lunch and dinner??

Such a debatable subject honestly, it does reflect indeed not only levels of earnings but cultural, household and personal status differences, lifestyle and habits. A lot of people would have time to cook but find the easy escape in Bolt and Wolt, a lot would not have this option because of financial circumstances or purely enjoying a more traditional approach to life.. However I just can't comprehend the under 100 euro per month budget mentioned by a few, unless you only boil rice and pasta and don't buy essentials like milk, bread and water.

Sorry sweetheart, food prices doesn’t matter of your location in Malta. It’s the smallest country in the world. In the other hand I am well educated and smart individual, where are these cheap locations for food? Can you be more specific. Like I did mention before Wife and I have two teenagers and we spend €1200…€1500 a month. So if you divide by 4 it’s€375 per person. And we buy the cheapest stuff at Lidl. 100 bucks a month for food for one person, give me a break

For someone watching from Australia....the cost of groceries in Malta is very cheap. 300 Euros in AUD is about $450-$500. One weekly shop for a family of 4 in Australua is roughly $200-$400 (120-240 Euros). Works out to be approximately 900-1000 Euros per month. Maybe we should move to Malta😅

Alex, I hope you are well. I just saw the video and I was shocked. May I know how you can spend the month with 50 euros of groceries in Malta? I am sure that even in India and Nepal it's not enough money for 1 month groceries. In my opinion, there are two things. First, either they don't wash every day because only 50 euro is needed for shampoo and detergent.Second, they consume food once a day and their food is only boiled rice because there is no other way. .I lived in Malta for 6 years and 7 months ago I decided to leave finally and moved with my family to Germany. You should know that Germany is many times cheaper than Malta for everything. I speak from my experience In Malta, 3 people (couple+1 child 7 years old). Total groceries (food+fruit+vegetables+detergent+personal hygiene+meat+fish in the first year around 400-450 euros, while in the following years the prices increased drastically 700-800 euros per month. I don't want to offend anyone, but when you watch this video and those answers with 30-40 or 50 euros show the quality of life they make and the quality of the country that like Malta has been turned into a rat hole. That's all I had and I wish you further success.
