I’m a retired American living in Hawaii for 9 years. I love your videos. Have wanted to visit Malta for years and will be visiting this Fall. Many things people express are very similar to what you will hear in Hawaii. I know it is USA and so differences but because we are islands and have many tourists and many people moving here there are similar issues. But I agree that everywhere there is good and bad. Everyone needs to find their place. There is no perfect place. I look forward to my visit and maybe I will catch you in person Alex!! With Much Aloha! 🌺

„I don’t want to be more than 12 minutes” - clocks in at 19 😆 On a serious note: Alex - keep on doing what you’re doing. People are no longer used to open discussion if they accuse you on being biased. I’ve watched a few of those „negative” videos and so far the pros still outweigh the cons. I mean, the problems that Maltese and expats alike experience in Malta exist in many European big cities (overcrowding, pollution, weird incidents, occasional crime). Just few weeks ago I read in local news about girl who had a similar gross experience. Except the offender was doing his „business” right on the high street while driving his car! Aside from the incidents like that, it looks like one’s attitude towards Malta really boils down to the level of income - you earn good money - you live an amazing life with very little to complain about. You earn little - well, the cost of living, the bureaucracy and working conditions will eat you alive. You like about anywhere else.

Don't compare us to big countries. We are a dot on the map. A small island in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. We shouldn't have reached the stage of no values, no morals and corruption and dishonesty. This happened because of bad management and greediness of our country. Plus we are Roman Catholics who lost our Maltese identity. Someday hopefully we will get it back. Because we are leaving a bad situation for our kids if we continue on this path.

I visited for two weeks last autumn. I found Valetta crowded, noisy and touristy. Would I live there? If I had a very good job I would be willing to. With good housing on a quiet street it would be OK. Would I retire there? NO. The islands don't have enough to offer. It's awfully hot and humid. Beaches are not great. Too much traffic, poor transport. Some Filipinos told me they preferred Dubai because they had more social activities there.

I apologise on behalf of my fellow Maltese for the obnoxious behaviour of some local and maybe not-so-local 'animals', with all due respect to animals. We are not all the sort of uncivilised herd such as the one in the video. Pity that we all get grouped together just for being Maltese by affected expats though I can't say I completely blame them for doing so. In any case, most of us are not this sort of inhuman being.

We've had cases 'here' where in time they've gone further by sexually assaulting and even murdering their victim/s - God forbids it won't start happening in Malta 🙏. You are right to do positive feedback videos as well as negative anecdotes. however I suggest you go to the police station and get the record of rapes and assaults against women in the last decade, and by whom? Dubai men? Maltese men? then post a video so we, white women from other countries who want to go to Malta, can be well aware of the dangers and what has the Malta Government done to those criminals? What have they done to protect women who walk alone????? Thank you for your video, I almost bought a plane ticket to go there. Malta before 1980 was paradise on earth We didnt need anything more We had everything Scenery clean sea beutiful view Cheap life I remember that time I bought abig house in Sliema for around 9500 euros food was cheap electricity etc were more than afforadable Then someone decided to make tourism a very important thing and what happened building started more hotels high rise concrete jungle flats. Bars and shops started poping up from all around the Island This tiny rock could handle certain ammount people but within ten years Malta changed greed for money in tourism sector started making the lives of the Maltese unbearable The last ten years were the worst thousends of people from Asia Indians Philipines and other started coming here offered good jobs or in reality being cheated as all they were allowed for cheap wages I hope that they open their mind. Now the population of the foreigners is almost or more than that of the Maltese More people more building Restaurants took all our pavements and sincerely Malta is becoming a hell for everyone Its time to study the situation before coming here things changed from heaven to hell With the over population one can hardly ride a bus

Malta today. Dishonesty, corruption, No sense of morality or values. Overpopulation, which have brought pollution. Lots of people suffer from health issues. Countryside will soon be non existent in a few years time because it is being built with high and suffocating small apartments. To live a decent life you have to work night and day. Because cost of living is high and salaries are low.Our kids are leaving because they can't afford to buy their own home though they work night and day. They can't give their kids a good upbringing because to work kids have to live in childcare hardly seeing their parents .Because grandparents and relatives have to work too to live decently. We never had people begging for food and living in shelters like we do today.Places of entertainment are non existent to serious Maltese youths. Because all you find is legal drug addicts, drunken people and fights and criminal acts
