I've had Vet clinic's say to me that 'We pay above award' and say the rate is $23 - $25 (Before qualified / 20 yr old) Once you gain experience + Getting that qualification + Knowing your worth, then usually its around $27 - $29. PLUS you will be on a probation period and the clinic will choose how much of a pay rise you will get once that is over. It can be $1 - $3. All depends. This also from clinics in NSW, Aus. Also I agree with Tess, Its best to work on a privately owned GP clinic.

Hey I’m wanting to know if it would be hard to get a job as a vet nurse if you are heavily tattooed (eg two visible sleeves) do you have any insights on that? Is there much discrimination from clinics in that regard? I guess I kind of expect some places to not be interested like anywhere but I’d hope it wouldn’t be too much of a deterrent for a potential employer. Thank you!
