Hi Josh! I only recently subscribed to your channel - I missed your inaugural finance summit... Pity. Any word on when your next one might be? It would be good if you were to hold such summits either quarterly or semi-annually. It gives all a chance to exchange report cards over the previous few months, don't you think? Cheers!

hi josh. would it be more prudent to wait till a recession is announced and subsequently plunking large sums heavily, rather than Dollar cost averaging now? What is your take on this? Currently out of the markets now, but the amount investible assume it is significant. Thanks
@joshconsultancy2 жыл бұрын
Currently out of a markets now is habit to eradicate because the adage is TIME IN THE MARKET. Why so? We can all have our guesses but actually NO one knows where markets will go next month or next year. Waiting for a recession to be announced is not prudent. It's market timing and loss aversion. Studies have shown that the year before the recession is announced is typically the worst and the market may bottom way ahead of the bottom of an economic cycle. You are likely underinvested. Anyone claiming that they can predict the future is a genius. So many predicted that oil price will shoot through the roof due to the lack of supply…. I just sat through a call on the oil pricing and the amount of levers there are is unbelievably large.. Also the prediction that bond prices going to go up while market is down… unfortunately, THIS time is different. So yes, Josh is right. Future cash flow of a company we can somehow predict but macro is a little hard.

Successful investors/traders ride the trend .
@bensgoodeats14932 жыл бұрын
One particular US stock during a 6 year bull market went from $4 to $150. If you did not notice the trend and chased at $10, $20 etc, you would not have made the profit. The problem with 99% investors/traders is they do not know when to cut loss and instead keep averaging down on downtrending stocks .

if i have 100k to invest i would put 70% in S&P500 or top up CPF SA and the rest in highly speculative stocks or cryptos

Why not Hang Seng Index or DBS for investing? Why not SSB over SA for liquidity and 3%+?

How would you look at Meta? Do you think it can reap the benefits from the market assuming metaverse related industry boom up in 5-10 years time, or some other companies will ride on Meta's hard pushing effort instead and take a big bite out of it, eg. TikTok-like, new companies...

Think this video start2022 has aged super well. VIDEO- I'm Not Buying Facebook Stock (META) Even With This Crash, Here's Why... kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2SoZH2nbrp6Zqc Check the comments to see how many people defending their valuation and market dominance then. However, with META now touching $100 in pre-trading, I guess there isnt a need to be bearish on it further.
@hansonyap2 жыл бұрын
@@joshconsultancy True. Feels like the risk (of getting decent ROI in future) is rather high and metaverse markets are very much volatile, its hard to justify an entry point for META

Investment is a lonely job, when a person spends most of the time predicting when or what to invest, then that person will never invest at all. Cause investment is not about the intelligence, it is about the stomach to weather the losses and it is about the experience, not the timing. Warren Buffett said "It's better to own a good stock at fair value then a fair stock with good value". From the survey, seems like most of the people's mentality is like gambling.

Hi Whis, Ive BIG findings on KIT coming up. Stay tuned...
@whis54482 жыл бұрын
@@joshconsultancy good or bad? Cos the recent selldown i've bought back some. Felt that KIT is really undervalued with all the assets they were or are going to be bought. Noticed that they have drawn down massively on the free cash of 800 mil. Guess it is for buying assets....i think the previous CEO was sacked by Temasek, cos he should have used the cash to buy cheap cheap assets and not let it sit as free cash and ganna taxed heavily by govt. Furthermore when it's price was depressed, KIT only bought in 2 days of share buyback, KIT should have bought more then.

@@whis5448 IMO Temasek will not let down part is a dangerous assumption. Cityspring infras is an example. It was listed on the market by Temasek. It lost massive shareholder value and was eventually merged to form KIT. And essential assets also do not necessarily equate to good investment as the concession periods are short. Investment should be considered as buying businesses rather than buying a lottery ticket according to warren Buffett. Cash flow,eps and roa are the few metrics that move a stock price, so dividend yield is as important as these metrics and relies on them

I recommended Crocs (CROX) in one of your video. This stock is easily going to $100 and above. Go and take a GOOD look at their latest results which resulted in recent 2 days surge in price

"easily going" - this phrase may have over-optimism embedded in it but having said that it's 20% in usual market volatility may already bring it there...

CROX broke past $100 last night and now $101.42. One day it will eventually reach $150.
