Hi I'm a 17 y girl from India. I wasted 1 year in social media. I was badly addicted to social media. But after watching your videos my life has completely changed. I deleted my insta 20 days ago and now I'm way more productive than my past days. So I really want to thank you. I'm getting better day by day and I hope I can achieve my goals. Thanks again💗.

a great way to not let this method ruin your mental health is to have the mindset of you're already valuable and having high standards for yourself makes sure you treat yourself with respect.
@The-Buffy8 ай бұрын
Just be happy with where you're at right now. That doesn't mean that you don't find it unacceptable, unacceptable just means "Oh, I don't like this, this is not enough: I want more." Be happy and grateful with being broke but keep a voice in your head telling you that this is unacceptable, that you want to be more. "I'm happy, even though my grades are way below my standard, but I still want to be at the top of the school." (or something similar) An actionable and practical step to applying this is gratitude journaling, where you name things and people you are grateful for. Some indirect ways to prevent your mental health from being obliterated is doing stuff like: exercise, sunlight exposure, meditation, healthy sleep schedule, healthy diet, etc. These things may not solve your problem but they do make it easier to do so. Ruff puts it perfectly in his _Most Common Habit Amongst Addicts_ video: "Nature will not cure your addiction but you can't cure your addiction without nature." -- Ruff.

I think the best baseline you can set for yourself is simply to improve. This will bring your focus to what naturally dissatisfies you and there will always be something but it doesn't have to be huge to the point where you don't feel good enough and your mental health suffers.
@amandinepinault8559 ай бұрын
This is exactly what I needed to hear. I've been procrastinating way to much lately and giving up on things for no reasons and now with what you said in the video I'm like : damn I just accept to be so low when I can give myself so much more things to do

I would tell myself "it's ok I have time I'm young", but then would use that as an excuse for everything and its become unhealthy so now I'm going to tell myself "because I'm young I must start now" great video

Regarding what you said about mental health and self-worth, if you are actively pushing to better yourself by raising your own bar, then you should find you self-worth in your character, in striving to do better, not just in how things are right now. Anyone can use this method as long as they have the right mindset. Also imagine Ruff working at McDonald's loooool Love your channel bro 💜
@zodiacnights7129 ай бұрын
if you find it hard to see it from a third person pov: just imagine your future self. you being at your full potential and having everything you wanted. visualize yourself in 5/10/15 yrs being the best you and continue you working towards THAT PERSON. you can hit one stone (for eg.getting fit/better grades) per yr and still be much better than who u are rn. simply put, "work towards achieving YOUR best self"

@@divyam.arya864 well I am not as deprived as my father was but I still belong to the middle class society of India which is very fine yet i keep higher standards than anyone around me and strive to meet my own expectations. And about inspiration- my father is truly the most admirable person I have in my life. I have learned patience, humility and confidence from my dad. He has taught me to be the better judge myself. I like these your real talk videos if that's how they're going to be and secondly i want to thank you for changing my perspective. I'm someone who used to thirst for more, I was never satisfied with my life, I wanted to be great, I wanted to thrive and everytime i saw my coursemates thriving more than me, it would kill me. Some People would tell me I'm destroying myself and i should let it go and some would say that I need to go harder because. I never knew what side was right so i did both, i would have expectations but if I don't reach them I'd be fine because the fear of failing was gone but the more i do something the more i have this urge to be way better and I'm scared that it will destroy my mental health like last time. I want to thrive and I want to be a billionaire, I want to be successful and i want to live a productive life and change more and more to the best of my abilities, I can't fight this urge I have in me and honestly you only ignited it more. But now i know that me being bad at something compared to someone who is better isn't something to hang myself over but i should take that as a challenge to thrive more, thank you so much! Ruff knows his stuff!

Hey, I've never thought about acceptable baselines this way. This would surely help accelerate progress, but only when you know what to do, and have been doing it for a while. A person new to smth they want to do, is probably going to struggle a LOT if thay start expecting a lot from themselves as soon as the begin the new task. So be careful and set higher expectations only after skme times youve spent doing the task. I see youve recorded this during the dark and not the evening/morning sunshine lol it gives serious-plotting-smth vibes but still good 😅 and keep doing these real talk videos man, they help!! 👊 Are you going to talk about the skool community??
