Duc engineer said the reliability combined with the synthetic oils (with tons of additives) they use these days means unless you’re regularly tracking the bike you really don’t need to change oil more frequently than what in the manual. Which for the Sfv4 anyhow is 1000km first service, 12000km per service after that (or annually) and 24000 for valve check and that’s on a desmo engine bike . Really good! Even tracking he said guys over do the oil changes, but, that it’s their money to waste and he’s happy to oblige 😅😂

They cannot void your warranty, check out the Magnuson Moss Warranty act. My dealer told me the same BS. Ducati North America stated that dealer was wrong. I do my own service and warranty intact.
@oneonlyxram Жыл бұрын
So the act has a lot of ambiguous language in it, which allows a dealership to decide what they tell people. But the reality is, if you do your own maintenance and something effectually goes wrong, you are held liable to fix it where as having it done at a authorized place takes that burden off of you.
@pizzaparty-r1c7 ай бұрын
@@oneonlyxram Wrong. Only something that goes wrong due to what you serviced yourself. If you change the oil and then your exhaust falls off, it will still be covered under warranty because changing the oil does not require removing the exhaust. If you changed your oil and the oil plug falls out and then your engine blows, that is not warrantied.

Are you tracking the bike a lot? Why so frequent clutch and brake bleed? The manual for the SFV4s says to check fluid level regularly but change it change once every 24 months (2yrs). I don’t track my SFV4s , so maybe that’s why. Perhaps viscosity of fluids is different here, I live in cold Ireland.

@markholmes5695 this bike was never tracked, but I bleed it often because it feels spongy to me

@@oneonlyxram fair 👍 I’ve noticed nothing yet, but then again the brakes are insane compared to what I’ve ridden in the past! I engine brake a lot given there’s ODDLES of it, so probably don’t use a huge amount of lever!

Hi, how much does maintenance cost for the Ducati Panigale V4? Greetings.

@@oneonlyxram Yeah I remember on my Monster 1100 evo it was every 12000km, and it was around 1000$...Aside from motorcycles with hydraulic valves, this is probably the best valve schedule in the industry.

Unfortunately some of the Japanese bikes are faster and more reliable. The new Yamaha R1 looks incredible. It makes me wonder if Ducati keeps them expensive to own for a reason. Like if you don’t want to fork out every year you don’t have one. This keeps the bikes a status symbol. But it destroys their resale.
@oneonlyxram Жыл бұрын
Faster is always debatable these days, the r1 is nice, but you have to change the brakes if you want to push them and to me the seating position is very wristy and not as comfortable as the Panigale. The resale on Ducati's like this Speciale is rather good. Go look a v4sp is going for over 40k when new it was 38k.

Wish they would make it reliable for that price... I can afford the bike but it seems like alot of hustle prob going with r1.

In your opinion how bad is the heat from the bike? My next bike is between an rsv4 1100, 2020 s1000rr or this, I'm leaning more towards the aprilia and BMW because they've got cruise control and since I do long highway stints that's gonna be really nice
@oneonlyxram4 жыл бұрын
So given that you do long highway rides, the bmw would be the way to go. It is far more comfortable than the aprilia. The Ducati is more comfortable than the Aprilia as well, but it does get hotter than the other two and it doesn't have cruise control. I still think the Ducati is much more exciting to ride between the 3.

So what's the most you've had to pay annual expense for a ducati? Cause I'd love to get a v4 or v2 plus a few other eventually I hear they are very expensive I don't know if they're saying very expensive as like 5k a year or 1 or 2k a year?
@oneonlyxram2 жыл бұрын
So going to ba dealership is all I do, a new Ducati means to keep the warranty you need to have a certified place work on it. My prices might be higher because of that, but an oil change is over $300, tires over $700( front and rear and I run supercorsa pirelli), that happens every 3k miles so that adds up. So if you track often you could easily be over 2k a year on maintenance.
@codytucker75602 жыл бұрын
@@oneonlyxram so looking into a v4 or v4s how much would you suggest having put away for annual maintenance add on some money for stuff that may break or fail. Like a rear engined Ferrari you should put a minimum 5k away every 15,000 miles or 3 years for maintenance how much should you do for a ducati? Thank you I appreciate the knowledge
@oneonlyxram2 жыл бұрын
@@codytucker7560 how much to put away really depends on how much you ride, how you ride, and your income. I don't have anything put aside for maintenance, I just pay as it comes up. But yes, about 2k a year, things that break are cover under warranty usually. Unless you hit something, but that is what insurance is for.
