I'm not saying this about Johnny specifically, but this is the argument for many KZbin channels; there's a betrayal in the brand message. Or, more practically, a person watching it simply might not have access to the tools/materials making it less obtainable/educational.

@@scottperezfox I don’t know how there’s a betrayal in the brand message he’s laying everything out. Plus if people don’t feel that they have the skills or the know how that’s their fault. Now he probably didn’t need to build such an elaborate patio. I thought with all the materials it was overkill. But you adjust.
@mkushin3 жыл бұрын
Tip for anyone that may want to buy these plans and build from them: You may still need to hire an architect or engineer to go through them to make sure everything is up to code in your specific jurisdiction. Probably still a cost savings. Also, permit fees vary GREATLY across the country, so take the permit fees with a grain of salt. $500 for the building permit is super reasonable. In CA, that would be probably more like $1500. Loved this series Johnny!
@Erik_The_Viking3 жыл бұрын
Here in San Francisco you could pretty much forget it. Everything takes at least 3 years for anything to get done with permits, fees, and of course the NIMBYs. That's before dealing with "inspections", and getting actual work done. This is why roughly 95% of in-law units are "unwarranted" - aka done without permits.
