I couldnt see the whole video, but why do the control arms have only a rear poly bushing and a OE in the front?

Hey, would you have the part numbers of the steering box? also, is it just sports models with the quick ratio box, or does c43 and c36 have it to? Thanks, great work

Great video. I have a W202 Elegance running the V6 and five speed auto. Do you know if the steering rack is different to the Sport model? If so, do you think it would be an easy swap and is the Sport’s rack an improvement? Also, to improve acceleration can you recommend a final drive ratio? It still needs to be usable at high-speed though.

Very nice detailed overview! Could not see what exactly oil for transmission do you use !? I have replaced my oil with febi 235.10 , but still not so happy, because 1 & 2nd gear wont allow fast shift,,

Use a good quality automatic transmission fluid. Makes a big difference.

What steering box is that? Does it have a quicker ratio?

Its from the sports models, hard to get nowadays. Yes quicker ratio.

Passt aber leider nur an den 110mm Lochkreis weil die Hardy-Scheibe so schöne Distanzstücke dran hat. Aber müsstest du an deinem Diff ja auch haben. Ich geb Bescheid

Hi, i have a question regarding your steering components: My car (w202 c280) uses the old Steeringbox (with the steering dampener), which in my opinion is an outdated and inferior system - (some play and no propper feeling also to light/not stiff enough) I have seen a person converting their old steeringsystem to a newer one with a reular steeringrack by using a different Front crossmember. (the thing the motor is mounted to, which connects the left and right side of the car) What kind of system do you use? DId you improve it in some way? Do you perhaps know from which model those parts might have come? (is there an old c-klass with a modern stering system?) (i can nolonger find that thread unfortunately)
@CZSMotorsport2 жыл бұрын
The System is actually not bad at all. Problem is 30 year old components and a lot of play by wear. If you find a steering box from the sport models, freshen up all your Suspension components you will be surprised how good this feels and works. Any chance the guy you are refering to is JP performance, regarding placing a newer steering rack in an older model?

@@CZSMotorsport i have seen Jp's Videos regarding that topic on that mercedes, however I have seen that steeringrack switch somwhere online in a thread a few years ago :/ (i like his ideas with this project and im watching it closely) Also the original steering rods which connect to that ballhinge seem rather thin :/ (my steering Box is indeed old so there is play in it, however the feeling, that you can turn with one Finger with 0resistance is probbably normal(doesnt feel good when driving faster) , maybe i should start by reajusting the play in it) Thanks for your reply

I guess the price would be around 4000-4500€ but those parts are much cheaper there than in Finland.
@Bobertkurbica4 жыл бұрын
Well prices shocked me a lot, in Poland everything is much cheaper. For example i bought my .654 for ~300zl (~65 eur) and normal price is around 200zl (45 eur). 2 weeks ago 1 guy wanted to sell whole w210 subframe with 210mm diff for 100zl (~20 eur) and nobody wanted it so guy threw it away
@CZSMotorsport4 жыл бұрын
Yes in poland the part prices are much cheaper. I already imported some parts a few times which i found on allegro. But its sometimes hard to convince those sellers there to ship to germany 😅

I got a question on the Diesel engine side. Are the crankshafts heat treated or can you grind them like others. I got a 603 with a spun rod bearing. Thanks Frohe Weihnachten. Looks like you guys are pretty much locked in your homes these days.
@CZSMotorsport4 жыл бұрын
Yes the bearing surfaces on the crankshaft are hardened. It is good to see on the coloring around those areas
@cullenmiller81704 жыл бұрын
CZS Motorsport Thanks for the response. I guess if we would machine it we would have to surface harden the journals again.
