Brilliant! We recently got some work done on the pool in Spain. It cost the same as your total cost ... But all we got was a path round the pool with drains and a shower. Why a drain? Because we use chlorine! ... And it kills off the grass and plants, so avoiding run off is critical.

James that is great only 25g that is so cheap, I was thinking that the cost 40g. A pool like that in my part of the country is about 85g. The pool came out amazing. A little paradise inside a paradise. It was worth the 61 days to see the finished pool. You'll be able to use it all year long in the Phils, I don't think you could do that in South Carolina, so that makes the cost even more worth it. I work for a construction company for 18 years and having some knowledge in the field, I can tell you, you wouldn’t even get the stonework that was done for you for that price. Well if your price is true it's dirt cheap, and TBH I think that a lot of your equipment must have been drastically reduced in price for promotional purposes. The Hayward DE filter and variable speed pump run 100,000 pesos at least. It is a beautiful pool and I hope you have tremendous enjoyment from it. I'm not commenting to be negative, more power to you and your video skills and marketing, but I do know a fairly basic pool in the Philippines runs at about 1,000,000 pesos , total square metres of around 25. Anyway well done it was a very enjoyable " Blog" for want of a better word. ❤️

James, I know this is an older video, but I'm finally working through a number of past episodes. Great Video! DE Powder stands for Diatomaceous Earth used for filters. It consists of the fossilized remains of diatoms, which are single-celled silicon structured organisms living in the ocean, waterways and even in the earth. During my oceanography classes, I always found the facts surrounding these creatures fascinating. It's also interesting that they are used in our pool filters because they are so small, they can filter out even the tiniest particles in our water.

I wish I would of used this company for our Philippines pool build We used silver pool builders from Cebu and the pool leaked in 4 seperate locations and had many other defects . Glad you got a nice pool with no defects

My brother had a pool built in his back yard in the southwest Houston area. Your pool is a beautiful pool with many unique features. His pool is a beautiful pool, about the same size as yours. It has a beautiful waterfall, but not as unique and nice as yours. It does not have a bridge. It has many of the same features as yours. He said he spent about 70,000 dollars. It is heated for use during the cooler months.

Hi James & Ness!! Congratulations! Beautiful pool. My Wife (Mia) and I have been watching the build since Episode 25. Amazing work and some really creative ideas you and the crew had in building the pool. We will soon be building a home in Kalibo. I'm hoping to be able to go back 3-4 times during the build since we have work and won't be retiring for another 6 years. I started watching your home build videos... only on I think Episode 4 or 5 now. So much useful information you provide along your journey in building your home, lot, and pool. We have the same goals and are planning on being finished in the next 2 years. This way we can migrate from Northern California to the Philippines and enjoy sunny weather all year round. My pool is a kidney shape and a round spa on the middle side I had it re plastered in 2013 .My only maintenance is chlorine tablet and pump it 3 hours a day clean the filter and charge it once a year.I have been doing that for 8 years now.I use the pool from May to September here in California with my Grandkids.No problem with only 3 chlorine tablets a week for a year and never cover your pool they like to breath.Do not miss pumping filtering for 3 hours.

Congratulations James on an awesome pool... I followed your pool build every step of the way... I was just wondering why you picked DE over Cartridge Filter... Most pools here in FL use cartridge and if you go fancy, add the Salt-chlorinator option which is gentler on the eyes and skin...

I really just took the pool companies recommendation since I'm a newbie in this area. I'm pretty versed in ponds and filter systems/pumps for ponds but not swimming pools. After all the things these guys did for me I believe the DE is a good choice. I won't really know until I have more experience with our system.

Congrats James and Ness, the pool is beautiful and unique. I would have guessed that the cost was around 1.5 M peso and I also was very impressed with the pool company and their attention to detail. One thing you never said was whether or not the level of the water was even all the way around the pool, it kind of looks like it is but just wondering. Thanks so much much for taking the time to document everything, I'm sure that I and others will use this as a reference when starting a pool build. Id' like to see you and Ness in the pool!

Thanks for the comments Steve. Sorry I didn't mention it but yes, the level around the entire pool is exact level as you can easily see on the top 2 tiles. I can't tell you how important that was to me as you know how detailed I am. Once Ness and I get time to relax we'll do a quick clip in the pool. I thought retirement meant retiring!

Pool is so amazing! Something like that in Australia would probably cost over $100,000 AUD!!! :( :(
