Spectacular, you now have a handmade one of a kind pool. This pool was built with hand tools and pure labor . It was also built in record time, rain or shine. It probably would have taken longer in the states because of permits and compartmentalised construction.(General contractor, electrical, plumbing) Those guys get a TEN and a standing ovation. Enjoy your pool, I’m jealous.

Wow, your property has really improved with the installation of the pool. I saw your videos four years ago and was curious about the progress of the villa. I still have a lot more watching to do, but thus far I like it. It still amazes me that this pool video was taken three years ago. Wonderful work in PI! I just liked and subscribed! 👍

Hi James and Ness. It makes you appreciate just how much went into the build. And the amount of blood sweat and tears the crew put in 👍 especially when there’s the back story of 3 cyclones and the pandemic during construction! What next? Maybe a time lapse on that evolving hairstyle 😂😂 enjoy the pool and stay safe.

In a word -- WOW! Thank you for the time lapse. It's exactly what I wanted because I don't have the time to go through the process in real time. Magnificent job! You've definitely sold me on that pool company. When I retire in Palawan, I will be contracting them to build my pool. Do you know any reliable contractors who built solid reinforced concrete homes in the Philippines? I do not want hollowblock construction for my house, so I'm looking for a good contractor for solid concrete. Any thoughts?

@Pack Youung 25K$ wouldn't even cover building permits and engineering fees in S. Calif. for larger Olympic sized pool like used at Hotel-Resorts.
@UrsulavonB
@UrsulavonB 3 жыл бұрын
@Pack Youung Yes, because of the very low labor wages paid in PH. The crew guys are happy to be working and do a good job. Most were born poor, will work hard and die poor. Typical daily wage for construction type jobs is P500, work 6 days per week total P12,000 per month before taxes. Say couple's combined incomes are P16500 per month gross. 33 % taxes, they'll end up with about $237.00 per month to live on. Dried Fish and Rice diet is the normal in Central Bstangas for those couples.

Our house falls in about 380 sqm gross floor area (basement, 1st & 2nd floors). We haven't release our total investment cost. We had so many issues with our builder it became extremely difficult to accurately pin down out final costs. I can tell you it was well over our P7m original proposal from our builder. Our lot is 885 sqm. Current pricing for lots here are P5,500 per sqm. We bought in 2010 and prices were about half that per sqm.

Hello James & Ness - just discovered your channel and really like your content. We are from GA in the US and just purchased a property in Mindanao. You being from NC, we are fairly close to each other, lol. My wife is Filipino and we are looking to retire six months there and six months back here in the US. Are you and Ness full-timers in Lipa now or do you still have residence and a home in the US? Just trying to get some different perspectives and ideas as we start preparing to build our new house in Mindanao. Anyway, love your positive vibes and ways - God bless!

Hi James.. On day 8 the pool excavation completed, would've it been a financial advantage to the pool builder to rent a backhoe and expedite the digging in 8 hours? instead of 8 days and manpower wages?
@MyPIDream
@MyPIDream 3 жыл бұрын
On very large projects it both cost effective as well as time saving using excavation machinery. For consideration of helping out providing income to small teams to support their families, contractors often elect for manual digging when agreed upon by the customer. For us, on this project, we decided to opt for making sure our pool team gained the advantage of income for their families.
