I have a question I'd like to hear you talk about In a future video.... How much did you plan your journey before leaving Ireland? Booking trains and hostels ect.
@Live.Adventure.Travel2 жыл бұрын
Good question, before leaving I made a list of hostels I wanted to stay in (maybe 3 per destination) and then an estimated route. Originally I had nothing pre booked however I quickly learned that the prices where climbing the closer I got to peak season. So, once I reached Italy I pre-booked my remaining hostels as I was afraid leaving it to the last minute would cost too much money. To be honest I'm not a big fan of travelling this way as there is little room for flexibility but it is kind of necessary when travelling through Europe in the summer months.

Most trains I just reserved on the day or the night before as I was using the interrail pass

@@Live.Adventure.Travel your videos are really helpful for some one like me who's planning a solo trip to EU! Thanks! I wanted to ask you about the seat reservation that is needed on some trains additionally with the Eurail pass. Can we do it online? Or do you need to go to the station for that?

@@Live.Adventure.TravelYes ! We have to book our accomodations as soon as possible almost !! But,not a year or two ahead as their prices are way too high because they have no good idea ,yet. For most popular hotels / hostels ,we have to reserve a year or two ahead ,though ! In summer ,we should make reservations in months ahead !! A half year or even a year in advance !! Ireland is very expensive. In a way ,it's more than England, London particularly. Because we still can get great deal with budget hotels in London in summer if we book in advance !! But,I couldn't find the similar prices for Dublin when I googled !! Nothing was under $150/night there ,I believe ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

How is that even possible? Did you not go out and eat or anything? Do you already live in Europe? I am in America, and that seems nearly impossible for me!

My daily budget for travelling is £75 per day for everything. I'm definitely one for free activities, walking everywhere and avoiding cafés, bars and restaurants. Careful budgeting and planning is crucial for travelling.

Hi! Is this including the accommodation that day? Or no?
@spark_671011 ай бұрын
@@kristinemendoza7355I believe if you stay at a hostel. You cook breakfast/ dinner ,only eat out once a day = lunch. Stick with walking tours with locals, they're usually free ,you only tip ! Hop on hop off busses are about $25 ! Then,walk mostly ! Stick with busses ! You don't drink alcohol, or 1 a day .Or even a budget hotel ,if you share with your friend Then ,totally can !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

Thank you SO MUCH of the video, it surely is helpful! I'm taking notes as I'm in a classroom! I have one question though: when it comes to taking an Uber, can we pay cash/card? Or is the app automatically linked to a European bank card? I'll be going from the Middle East and I don't plan on opening a bank account in Europe (or is it a must?). I'd much rather to swipe my international debit card onto the machine.

How long in advance did you book your accommodation in advance whilst travelling during the summer months? I am planning on doing a similar trip this year but don't want to have everything planned out because I want to be flexible. However I also recognise that this could leave me in a situation where there may not me affordable accommodation in the area because everything else is already booked up. Your guidance is greatly appreciated!

There is a VERY big difference between travelling in May to September and November-January... You're in the off seasons...Accommodation and activities are a third of the price...

I didnt do more than 2 week solo in Europe so if I extend to 4 months. I probably finishing with 5K Euros. But i go extereme cheap on food (always eating bakery from Lidl and drinking energy drink) and cheapest hostel possible (I even stayed in a WWII bunker in Brno hhahah) So for 114 days i might not able to keep it extreme cheap so 8K is also a good number. Much love
@Live.Adventure.Travel Жыл бұрын
Haha yes! It’s definitely possible to do it cheaper than I did. Yeah so when you go past maybe 6 weeks you get into a really tired state and staying in budget gets really hard but once I booked myself a private room for a week I was back on track 😂😂😂

How do you guys calculate daily budget? Including accommodation? Because I spend not more than 50 euros in Germany, not a backpacker.
@pasreppas6454 Жыл бұрын
probably too late now, but its total amount of money at the beginning of the trip, divided by the amount of day's you're traveling... however, budget is entirely personal, and is dependent on many factors

Revolut is the best. What about Travel insurance? Did you use the Revolut built in one, pay separately, or just wing it?

I literally swear by it! So good for keeping on track of spending. No I use VHI for travel insurance. And they are the best. I have had to come home durning a trip a few years ago due to an accident and they where very good throughout. Although I think they are only based in Ireland

just shower with your clothes on, then hang them overnight each night. save on clothes washing expenses completely. it doesn't take that much more effort or time.

What's the point of travelling all the way to a foreign city just to go partying all night? Why even spend the travel money then? I don't understand it and I don't think I ever will. I would think visiting museums and trying ordinary workers' cafeterias more interesting myself, as I would learn more about the local culture. On the other hand, I would rather pay the 5 euro extra for a private room in the lowest-priced 1-star hotel I can find over a hostel bed.
