lf you guys really wanna stay for a bit longer over there, I think look for an apartment to rent and pay monthly… I think it’s cheaper than paying per night for your accomodation. or You can also make a deal with the owners where you staying now… I think they can consider giving you discounts☺️ Hoping for the best!

I'm a regular visitor in the Philippines. Your info is spot-on. I typically use Airbnb wherever I go and pay about $30/night for a 1 month rental with a kitchen. Joy! Going to try a 1 year rental next and prices are about half.

You should rent long-term, you probably cut that cost to half. You should reach out to Eight Miles from Home vlog, they live in Siargao by the beach. Fyi right beside their house is another small house also owned by the same owner. I think it's also for rent. Their place is amazing, very quiet, and surrounded by bananas and coconut trees

I lived in Quezon City for 6 years. The total monthly cost for rent (2BR/1CR), utilities(electric/water/internet), and food was around $600 US. Was a homebody so didn't spend much on transportation. My problem was spending too much, too often on things in Lazada/Shoppee.

accommodation wise, it just depends. When I was there.. I spent around AUD$20 per night. It's litterally like a motel type without any amenities. But also taking note of location. It's not a touristy spot. Siargao (shee-yar-gau(w)) is touristy, so it's expected to be more expensive.

Siargao is a one of the top tourist destination so expect a bit higher than the usual but still reasonable same with other tourist areas in the Philippines plus because of the pandemic and the typhoon that happened which made prices spike up. If you do some extensive research there are areas or parts of the Philippines that is way more cheaper than Siargao, Palawan, Boracay, Bohol etc.. some less or non-touristy areas of the Philippines your dollar can get you a long way. You should also learn how to make a bargain to cut cost even lower than regular prices it is possible even if you are a foreign tourist just ask help/information from reliable locals or foreigners that's been living in the Philippines for a long time on how to bargain your way with the prices of everything.

Everyone can make home made ear drops by mixing 50% vinegar with 50% alcohol (70 or 90 proof are both Ok). Syringe a blocked ear using warm water (take the needle off the syringe first) with several rinse repeats. Follow up with some ear drops and you’re good to go.

I've also noticed that the price bumps up in so many tourist destinations there. Travellers tend to go for the quality experience but still with fair pricing. Unfortunately, Philippines often lags behind Thailand or Vietnam when it comes to ammenities. Although it's easier to go around the country because Philippinos can speak English.

But here is my question, If you are paying more in the hotel you were renting vs in Vietnam -- To me, I am paying for the quality of location. Is the place in Vietnam better than the view, the beach, the ocean or location compare to Siarigao? If you are comparing hotel vs hotel, I can see your point. Hotel is subjective.

Well people we just need to suggest to huddle or bargain or negotiate because Philippines been colonize by Americans and some Filipinos do spend a little more but the other side of Filipinos knows how to ask for discounts in everything , tourist or foreigners don’t know this way. But if you stay longer I can guarantee foreigners tourist will know how to spend less by asking discounts as well. Anyone who is new to any areas in the Philippines ends up paying more or too much! No regrets if you ask first how much , then if you agree or make a bargain then you’ll be paying a lot less. Foreigners should show also that they are in a budget rather than paying then will post in social media this and that. A little lesson okay! More fun in the Philippines. “ ciar-gaw”

Hello Lloyd & Mandy my friend after your visit in Siargao Islands, Philippines , I highly recommend to proceed & explore Boracay Beach in Malay, Aklan, it is claimed to be the best beach of the world. (Check it out in KZbin) There is a direct daily flight from Manila, Cebu going to Caticlan Airport in Boracay Islands. BEST THING TO DO IN BORACAY ISLANDS. 1. Island Hopping in Boracay Islands, it is full of white sandy beaches, blue indigo waters and dreamy sunsets. Known to be unexploited paradise. The stops often includes the beaches of Lapus-lapus, Ilig-iligan, Crocodile Island & Magic Island. 2. Visit Puka Shell Beach in Boracay, it is located in Yapak, Malay, Aklan, tricycles and boats going to Puka Shell Beach can be hired from White Beach. 3. Ariel's Point is the most popular for the 15 meters high diving boards where adventure junkies can leaf off to the clear waters below. It is located in Batason, Buruanga, Aklan, purchase a ticket from Ariel's house in Station 1 where the boat leaves to Ariel point. 4. Explore Mount Luho, is the highest point of the Islands, rising 100 meters above sea level. Tricycles from any stations can be hired to take you to the Mount Luho entrance. 5. Visit Crystal Cove, is one of the must-visit Islands hopping destination when you're in Boracay. Outrigger boats heading to Crystal Cove can be hired from Station 1. 6. Bulabog Beach , also known as "back beach", is popular for windsurfing and kitesurfing competitions. It is only 5 minute walk towards the east from D Mall Shopping Center, located White Beach Station No. 2. 7. Take a trip to Diniwid Beach, it's just short walk away from all the bars. Tricycles from any point of White Beach can be hired to take you to Diniwid Beach. 8. Willy's Rock , is probably one of the most recognizable attractions of the Boracay Islands, it is located at Willy's Rock, Station 1, Boracay. 9. Watch the Iconic Sunsets in Boracay Islands 10. Pls do not advertise your being Dunce on any SM platform .These vloggers know what theyre doing .They do research before they hop on a plane . Would you travel to any country without doing any research on where to stay and what to do.We are in the 21st century already and there are thousands of websites /vlogs who cater to nomads like us . I have travelled to almost 50 countries and almost the entire USA and Mexico and thats what global trekkers do !
