My new RS3 sportback cost me £425 to insure, I do around 8,000 miles a year and I am 31 with a clean UK licence. Fuel consumption is averaging 30mpg, but it will do up to 37mpg on longer runs. Servicing is zero cost for 3 years, as I got a 3 year service package from Audi free of charge; compensation for the 20 month wait to get the car. I plan to keep mine 3 years, so expect to purchase one set of tyres, if I replace with the same Bridgestones, that's £800. Other than all that, this is a seriously cheap car to run. Also, I paid £58,000 for my car, that's full carbon spec, RS pack and comfort/sound pack. When I took delivery a few months ago, the same spec car was retailing at nearly £70,000 at Audi dealers. So, depreciation is going to be very low as well.

Wait till you have to replace the front brakes, that will hurt, ouch!
