In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

I have the chirp but when I cast it out and slowly reel it in the signal lags. Gets annoying. Keeps stopping and starting.

I have the Chirp and love it. Great for feature finding when looking for weed, water temp and depth. Don't use the fish finder feature at all as weed blowing around under the surface will show as fish. My only issue is that the app does not show the distance from the bank. When you find a spot you need to clip up and wrap it out which is a strange one considering the technology involved. Maybe this will be added as an update at some point. It's a great tool but I don't use it all the time. 8/10

You can clip up and more than once. Clip up, write it down, wrap it out.

GUYS I HAVE BAD NEWS FOR YOU. THOSE FISH ICONS ARE NOT FISH. THESE CHEAP ONES DONT SHOW FISH. IT CAN BE ANYTHING AT ALL ON THE BOTTOM.

I would agree. I mapped a water which I lease from a farmer. It was dug a few years ago and was never stocked. The Deeper Chirp shows fish if the icons are on. Turn them off and there are no arches. I never use the Icons, they are completely inaccurate. Looking for arches is far more accurate.

Vass waterproof salopettes are good mate I use them in work (construction industry) and they've lasted me a year and are still waterproof

Use mine for feature finding and depth etc, far better than constantly casting a marker float through ur peg...they have there place for this purpose! Casting around at showing fish, not my cup of tea thx

These have their place but when it's quiet and your are not disturbing others. But casting to a showing fish seems sheer madness to me. These things are wildly used out of context and reduce an anglers learning curve its a shame that carp fishing has gone down this direction.
