That's impressive, congratulations! I am in my 50s and downsizing is where my head is at. I love this idea of putting up an Ebay account. Thank you for this idea.

Make sure you mail the sold object so the package can be tracked, some buyers will claim the package got lost in the mail...

Good advice. We use the built in e bay shipping labels with tracking. We have not had an issue.

I would love to sell something, but if you are only talking about selling what you own, then this is a short-lived business. It sounds like you actually buy cars at a cheap price and sell them on ebay for a bit more. In bulk purchases, I get it and on Amazon a person can do a drop-ship business where no product is ever stored anywhere and it's basically a business where you are the go-between the source seller and the buyer. I think people need real advice on how to do a business on bulk buying, storing, and selling or if drop-shipping, then how to do that. Anyone can talk about these things, but to be really helping others, people need real examples so they can model a business off of that. It's great that you are trying to help others, but if a person just sells what they have on ebay, then a few months or a year later - then what. People are looking for a steady source of income and real life examples. - I do appreciate the time and energy you give to make these informative videos and maybe that might be enough for some people, but if I am ever going to sell something, I have to have something to sell. I don't have a garage full of things to sell. - Thanks for these videos and I'm sure others appreciate them, but someone who needs a real income, needs a real job or a real business.

Thank you for your comments. I appreciate your observations, and I will be posting follow up videos soon with some examples of what has worked for me. I do want to reply specifically to some of your comments, and will include more detailed points like this in upcoming videos. Product: While I do have items I already own that I am selling, I also purchase items at retail (not wholesale or in bulk) and flip them on sites like EBay, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and through networking with people looking for specific collectibles. I felt that a video about how EBay had worked for us, my wife and I, would be something people could identify with and start earning some extra income in a relatively short period of time. Business Models/Specifics: One of the primary reasons I chose EBay as the primary focus is that it can be used as a foundation for just about any level of business someone might want. If you just want to sell a few items to make some extra cash, it works. If you want to scale up, post alot of product and make more, it can work for that. They provide simple and relevant sales data that you can use to grow your business. Sales are about numbers; for example, right now there are 1.6M + Mattel Hot Wheel listings on EBay, it would seem there is too much competition and limited opportunities, but we were still able to sell a good mix of product I already owned as well as product I purchased at local stores. The internet is the great opportunity equalizer. A person can access not one, but several online selling sites for their product(s), that will help them get their product in front of more people. Income: Our primary focus of the EBay video was to let people know that there are ways you can earn some extra money, relatively quick and easy. Right now for us, it is a source of supplement income, not a primary. My EBay has the ability to scale and grow if I choose, such as diversify my product offerings or add more product for sale in a specific category. Like alot of things in life, there is no guarantee that someone will be an overnight EBay sales success story and provide you will all the income you need. I completely agree that finding another job a.s.a.p. might be what an individual needs to do for their wellbeing, my hope was that perhaps they could get some extra income streams and EBay was the example I could share. Thank you so much again for your great observations and comments, they are sincerely appreciated!
