After installing the Stage 1 file on to my 140i, I wondered just how much difference the file made over a stock tune. We took the Dragy out to a private spot to carry out some testing & although the conditions weren't on our side (either time I filmed) we got ourselves a benchmark.

Little update guys. Did a few 100-200 whilst out today, didn't have the laptop with me so I couldn't switch over to stock but I had a 8.46 at -1.15% incline, and a 8.9 at -0.15% incline, the 8.9 was a little odd as I had to change lanes and hit a huge bump. This was whilst it was 20 degrees with 1/3 tank of fuel. Should be a consistent 8.5s on the right road/conditions.

You could do with finding a better road. A lot of those times were invalid due to the slope. Keeping them valid will give a better representation when comparing stock to tuned. 100-200 will be better as any timed runs from a standstill can be all over the place. Especially in a RWD car. Looking forward to following you journey with the M140i

Yes mate I agree. The Dragy was playing up a little too as some of the steep declines were previously valid times on other runs. I've got some more spots to try out for a 100-200 so I shall keep you all posted 👍

@@JXLPerformance - probably best that you dont talk/vlog about 0-80 & 100mph or 100-200KPH given that you are on public roads to save getting yrself into hot H2O

Put Dragy box up on centre channel on top of dashbaord - Dragy's magnet will stick on the grille wo an issue - and you should get more reliable Dragy GPS data with Dragy on topside of dash

On my 240i I am running Michellin PS4's (245/45) and the grip off a launch is immense! I'm holding at 2k rpm and then releasing the brake and flooring it. Not done any dragy runs as I don't own one but it definitley launches alot better than this video shows so maybe get wider tyres mate? Recently decatted her myself and plan on stage 1 with Litchfield soon 👍. Great video mate appreciate it.

My 140 bm3 Stage 1 did 4.43 on my very first run and 4.39 2nd try on mpss tyres, I can defo improve on your time mate.👍🏻

Yes mate 11.21 is my best up to now, over a second quicker than when I had a jb+ 😀👍🏻

I only managed the 0-60, 60-100 times here, road was a little busy to be busting out 1/4 miles, I do plan to do some more testing next week when the weather is a little better 👍

i think your lack of traction maybe the rear tyre size as mine isn't 235 width mine are 245 width on the rears, maybe try going wider when they due to expire?

Stage 1 generic map on mine 4.55 0-60. Just gone to stage 2 BM3 will have a play. Defo user error. They are quicker than your times. Try pulling off in 2nd

Try smashing the accelerator, launch control is useless, I got 5.3 using the launch control, without it I got 4.16

Best time I got 30-70mph was 3.81s stock auto car with draggy at 18c and full tank. Some data from Autocar 30-70 E60 M5 V10 3.6s 2010 Carrera S 4.1s 2006 Octavia vrs 6.3s

If you're going to do a proper comparison test, do it on a dry day and get better tires, all I hear in this video is excuses excuses excuses, which are legit excuses but why do a video of this sort just to make excuses. Just choose better days, better location and better tires before making such video so you won't get comments like this lol. Also in a rwd vehicle 0-60 times is pretty irrelevant, you can get a car with much more power with slower 0-60 times. If you have rwd, just do 100-200, all we need to know. Anyway, I'm a m240i xdrive owner with mhd stage 1, 0-60 in 3.5 sec, 1/4mile 11.8. On my E30 map, I did 11.5 at 118mph. Thank goodness I chose xdrive over the rwd model, numbers from rwd are absolute rubbish.

I get that, but this is what happens with the unpredictability of the UK weather, before filming, and as we were sat ready to do the first run, blazing sunshine, dry roads... just before we did the first time the heavens decided to open. At the end of the day the purpose of this video was to show the difference between BM3 S1 OTS and Stock, given they were done in the same conditions, on the same day and in the same temperature, that bit was done. Was I going to get the quickest times possible? No. Did I expect to? Not at all - pretty sure I mentioned this in the video too... FYI - the reason why I don't film/record 100-200 runs is because I don't want to loose my driving license... when the driver, the car, and the road are identified easily. 100-200 runs on a private road, my best time is 8.47 seconds. Average time around 8.6/8.7 for most attempts. Also, I now have new wheels and tyres, just so happened that I went out yesterday to record an update to this, in bone dry weather...
