Adjusted for inflation, $2.50 in 1988 is equal to $6.43 in 2023. Which is still great for an order of ribs. Though, the 1 dollar coke would be $2.57 now, so probably don't get the drink

I'll agree that my parents (who are boomers) are selfish fucks, but to say they had it easy is bullshit. I know how hard they worked then to get where they are at. The problem for your generation is opportunity. Baby boomers didn't take that from you, necessarily, the Oligarchy did. Working class boomers had nothing to do with it. Besides that, don't believe everything you see in the movies. Yeah, we could eat for 2 or 3 dollars in the 80's, but that's still like 7-8 bucks these days.

Thang Nguyen There's a show about those kind of people on TLC called Extreme Cheapskates. Those people are stupidly cheap to the point where its absurd. I remember there were these parents who washed their dishes outside in a kiddie pool full of used water in order to save on their water bill. Their kids were even playing in the pool while they were washing their dishes. And on top of that they had virtually no furniture in their house. I remember another one where this lady got all of her food out of the garbage. She would go through the garbage that was thrown out by grocery stores and restaurants and pick out any untouched food that wasn't spoiled. She even prepared dinner with that food for a couple of friends she invited over. I will never understand how some people can actually choose to live their lives like that. I can understand saving money by using coupons or buying the off brand of an item or buying something used, stuff like that. But when you go out of your way to live like a bum to do it then I think its safe to say you have some issues they need immediate attention.

@LegionIvory6 жыл бұрын
Shiggy No, I mean according to all those I know who were alive in the 1980s, $2.50 actually got you something. Hell, $2.50 wasn't too bad in the 90s, either. I'm not saying it could fill up a gas tank, but it had a lot more power then than it does now.

Nate Kyng I wasn't trying to retort you, I just thought it would be a funny goof. They do use dirty pallets as their barbecue fuel though. My brother used to work at Pet Food Express, and the E&J next door used their pallets. The more you know.
