exactly what i do as well. it's on the backburner for me, i upload because it's fun but not because it's a job. the hate that comes with it really sucks, but when people find stuff interesting or fun it's really awesome. i too have a vibrant social life outside of youtube, so i absolutely dislike the attention as well. i'm not a big star or anything, but i do have a few videos in the 100ks and one in the millions. i did get recognized on the water quite a bit and it sucks. i'm glad it's dwindled down a bit for the few hundred i get a month here and there on peak season haha

$2,000 is more than I make in a month with almost 400k subscribers and 1 million views PER month. This goes to show that CPM (cost per mill or thousand) really is the most important metric if you want to make KZbin as a living. My CPM is about 2 dollars but remember that KZbin takes a huge cut. Yours CPM is 13-20 which is on the highest end. Just wanted to let everyone know it’s NOT the same for everyone. It depends on your content. Music is the LEAST paid content on KZbin and anything related to money or jobs is the HIGHEST paid content.

@@Analog_money It’s alright 😊 everything has its pros and cons. That’s just my KZbin channel, but I can monetize every single songs 10 times in 10 different ways on top of my KZbin channel. This is why diversification is very important as a creator in 2024. Music is essentially a nonstop revenue source because people don’t stop listening to music. (Instrumental music that is) whereas vlogs and videos on KZbin have an expiration date. The good thing about the videos that you’re making is that they stay relevant for a long time because everyone wants to know how it is to hustle online with EBay, KZbin, online business, etc etc. your content is very good and everyone can relate and enjoy your original content! My comment was more for your viewers to remind them that it really depends on what type of content they do on KZbin, but like I explained, there are many other ways to diversify your income using the same exact Content, so everything is relative. Your content depends on your projects outside of KZbin just as much as my content depends on my music in the real world, so you and I are both diversified and everything works in harmony KZbin alone should never be your only source of income. 😅

Oh gotcha and yeah for sure, I always think about how you can listen to a song a million times but basically everything else it’s kinda a one and done. Other than that, you have the best possible content on KZbin for both Ad revenue and relevancy. Rest assured, if you can’t make it on KZbin, 99% of others can’t. I’ve been on KZbin for 12 years. I speak from experience on this. You have nothing to worry about.

Stumbled upon you a few weeks ago, your videos remind me of the early days of youtube back in 2007-2012. Absolutely love it. So sick of seeing the stupid clickbait titles, same content, everyone copying eachother. This is original and what youtube was orgianlly made for. Keep going with the re selling episodes and find your niche to keep expanding! 1 weekly video or 2 is enough to keep you busy + earn a monthly income. Overtime, hire editors but the first 12-24 months are all you!

I really like the transparency that's happening here. Whilst the numbers themselves aren't the most interesting part, it's nice to have some idea of how it's going and actually see that you can turn something like this into a profitable business, and even make more out of making youtube content out of it. I'm really interested to see where this takes off in a year or so. Just remember to not over-work yourself to the point of burnout which can easily happen to creators because it's a very time-consuming thing, to make videos along side doing the actual work.

Don't worry so much about the spitfire editing and make more videos. I remember Todd Furman on Gold Rush told one of his workers off camera, who was concerned about gold amounts, he said the show is the gold... he had a production credit. I know a few YT guys who's actual work is dwarfed by their YT income, car content shows. For this content maybe not but it could definitely pad your income and then there's doing collaboration work that could grow your channel and sourcing inventory. You're doing great !

Great insights. I’ve found shorts are decent for driving traffic to the longer form video and building subscribers, but those shorts subscribers don’t necessarily convert to long form watchers. Algorithmically shorts and long form are different algorithms. Since your long form is flying, putting that effort into the long form is a better strategy for your channel. Great work! A little tip: With growing inventory, you need some kind of regulatory system, because nothing is more nervewrecking then searching for Items you just sold but cannot remember where you stored them. I recommend cheap shelves and Boxes with Numbers. Then when you list your Items put the number of the Box in there so you always know where your stuff is.
