I use penny sleeves, top loaders and team bags.
@scotthoward60708 ай бұрын
I don't even use tape on the top loader. The cards are not coming out of a semi-rigid top loader, and I wrap the cards into one sheet of printer paper. Never had a problem in over 30k orders. Everyone has their own system. I like seeing how other people do things. Thanks.

I bought probably 75 cheap cards this summer. Tape or a tight team bag is necessary. I had a card in a bubble mailer in just a sleeve and top loader and it was hanging out of the top loader. I’ve also had sleeved cards hanging out of the pocket of a card saver. Not past the top lip, but still, corners exposed on one side. On a top loader the tape keeps it in, and since you squeeze it tight before taping, it keeps the card from moving around. That’s the advantage over a team bag. Use of scotch tape deserves a beating. It mucks up the top loaders and can gum up enough to get on the card when you pull it out.

I am going to have to go with jeremy on this and say team bags. sure it adds about .03 to the materials costs but the presentation is much better and I personally hate getting cards with blue tape on the TL. its rare but I have had cards move in shipping and get the blue tape on the card. great video with great advice.

Would you recommend doing a ebay shop for low end or just selling with the free monthly listings?
@MarioLuigi-vb3rp Жыл бұрын
I’m glad your considering lots. I run my lots doing auction as well. I’f you get very good at it you can start buying huge collections of commons and lot them up and sell for more money. I like the tracking system with ground advantage and priority. eBay envelope service screw’s me and the kind of people that buy low end are the worse to deal with. I had one guy give me a negative review today and the card is still on the way and eBay will not reverse it. this is why i try my best to avoid eBay envelope shipping and keep my average card or cards sale over 10 to pay for the better shipping. Keeps your satisfactory metrics up. I average at the moment almost two k per month with very low cost on inventory and about a couple hours a week spent altogether with eBay. And I can work a full time job here in the Bay Area making six figures working in surgery. Next year I plan to double or triple my monthly. With your KZbin subscribers you can probably have them email you work details on their collections and buy them. Good luck and I hope you smash it next year with the new model. 12:12

Why would eBay not reverse it? I've never encountered that, especially when they haven't received the item.

Don’t forget… it’s not shipping cost, it’s shipping AND handling, so inflating the price to compensate your time + supplies to ensure their product arrives safely is normal in any online sales

Charging $1.11 for shipping then paying .63 is not a problem. Even if you charged $1.99. The shipping cost does not change when ebay takes fees out of it for starters. So if you don't inflate the price it will cut into your profits. Secondly the postage was .63. This does not include supplies and time. People seem to forget that it is called shipping & handling. Just because someone sells a card at .99 and shipping is $1.11, there is zero difference than someone selling a card for $2.10 free shipping. If you are ok with the price when you buy it, there shouldn't be a problem when you receive it. If you are going to cry about pennies on a out the door price of $2.50 or less, maybe you shouldn't be buying cards if your budget is that tight.

I agree with Jeremy on the team bags. I use them for every sale. I don’t do free shipping though so I make a little more than you on lower end sales. I charge a flat fee of $1.50 shipping no matter how many cards my Customer buys. It encourages multiple purchases in one sale. But to help get the cost down on team bags, buy in bulk! My last purchase was 1000 teams bags for like $18. Less than 2 cents a piece. Great channel though. Found you a few weeks ago. Enjoying the channel.

Another great video! At what point did you decide to invest in a scanner and card dealer pro vs just taking pics with the phone? I feel I’m close to that point but idk what route I want to go. Thanks good luck on the wemby hunt!

If you list a card for lets say $25 + ground advantage shipping(usually like $5) and then you and seller negotiate the price of the card down to $15, do you still ship with Ground Advantage or do you now use standard envelope(63 cents)? Whenever the card is now under $20, I always just use PWE. But Idk if the buyer gets peeved at all about it. Cuz my thinking is ebay insurance will cover you anyways. Also part of me being willing to come down to $15 is that I am getting some of the money back from saving on shipping. Curious what your thoughts were.

The reason I charge shipping is to help the seller as they don’t have to pay sales tax on that, and I charge $1.29 for the 2 oz standard shipping at $0.97 (I ship in semi rigid photo paperboard so it’s sturdier, so heavier). If they want to complain about it then they can pay more with tax 😂

Team blue tape here. Even if you get team bags for 2 cents, thats 2 cents you don't have to spend.
@johnsysays Жыл бұрын
Sure save 2 cents but you'll look like a cheap careless seller. Blue tape wont protect an item from moisture, rain, or dust if the envelope rips during shipping which has happened to me. I will not buy from a seller twice if they wont even team bag an item. If a team bag is 2 cents, you simply add that to the cost of the card.

@@johnsysaysin my time on this Earth, I have never received a wet piece of mail. I'm not saying it can't happen, but I'm just playing the odds. When I'm selling cards for as low as $1.50, that extra 2 cents could be like 10% of my profit.

Going to be honest with you. Your listings suck, many of the scans are blurry as hell you have absolutely no description unique to the item even if it is copy and pasted. Would expect a value proposition in there and why they should choose you, how you ship etc. It's cool having bad pictures but at least put a disclaimer in your listing, saying these are scanned, etc we have to do this efficiently, please reach out for additional pictures. Blah blah blah.
