I have some observations from my laptop.its a device with 4gb ddr3 ram ;i5 processor;1Tb HDD. I run task manager while uning heavy software. After opening all the heavy software, I found that it's using just 1/3 of my total ram space .so I don't think that it really doesn't affect increase in ram

I bought a new Lenovo laptop having i3 processor, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, and most of the times it takes 5 minutes to boot up. It has 860+ GB free in it but customer care is saying me to upgrade RAM, insert SSD. This booting times is so much and my laptop hangs a lot and even can't open a single app on time. It freezes a lot. In my laptop task manager, memory and HDD disk shows 80-100% usage even when no app is running excepted task manager itself. What should I do? My CPU can install 2 sticks of RAM. So what to do?

I agree with you, in a moderate usage of laptop 4 gb is enough but if you are using a high memory software it would be quite difficult for a ram to store and pass the data quickly that results in lagging of speed or sometime system can hang.. When you buy a phone they mention 4gb ram but actually its little bit smaller than the mentioned value , it is as same as the 64 gb storage of phone shows only approx 55 gb ,as a part of system reserved.... 4gb of ram is almost 1 gb system reserved (which is continuously running)+ your application use So if you are playing songs and using Facebook 4gb ram is enough, but for high level applications you have to increase ram but the system speed will be same untill and unless you choose a higher clock ram as he mentioned in the video..if you increase 4gb ram with the same clock speed your system will work smoothly you won't feel any lagging issue...and time delay which was occurring due to the insufficient ram will sort out...
