The world's top five emerging economies - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - are holding their annual summit virtually.
The meeting is taking place against a complex geopolitical backdrop.
From the war in Ukraine and trade disputes between China and the U-S, to a global economy trying to recover from the fallout of Covid-19.
Chinese President Xi Jinping - who's hosting this year's summit - has criticised the West's handling of the Ukraine crisis and called for co-ordination to prevent disruptions to the global economic recovery.

Only Europe is obsessed with Ukraine war daily but for Asia it's a non issue where there are so many problems being faced in Asia and Russia will never be isolated totally and most of Asia will not impose economic sanctions against Russia as we the majority of Indians will support Russia

BRICS is getting more and more influential in the world as their economic cooperation with each other is strengthening. The BRICS countries together forms 41% of the total population in the world which is far more than the whole collective west. India is clearly not taking side of the usa although she is a member of Quad and yet she is expanding cooperation with Russia. The world knows perfectly well that the west is going in the wrong direction and puts emphasis on the wrong issues as the whole world is struggling with high inflation and energy crisis.

The BRICS are the way out of ideological agenda of US, we need to develop our countries, and today the US can only give us war and fight, but we need investment and development, that's what BRICS can deliver to the world. Because of that we need to accept new countries into the BRICS.
