Will an expanded BRICS alliance reshape global power dynamics?

The BRICS alliance is expanding by inviting six more countries. Initially, it was created to help major emerging economies from the global south to work together. However, the alliance has faced challenges in achieving its original goals, such as changing the world order, and reforming financial institutions. So, is this expansion weakening the influence of the world's largest emerging economies, or is it enhancing it?

BRICS isn't going to much right now anyway. The only thing we saw in the last 50 years was that the former colonies got together these nations from the Caribbean, Africa, and Central America and wet to the G8 and tried to negotiate a "Preferential Trading Status". It didn't quite work out the way they wanted, but they did get some concessions and got some "special market access".

@@pgdog888 LOL 🤣 Vladimir Putin tried to hide 100 billion US dollar by converting it into Chinese Yuan before the Ukraine war. Then we the war started and things did go as plan Vladimir Putin tried to re-convert his Chinese Yuan back into US dollars to buy supplies. However, Xi Jinping of China said "No you keep the Yuan". Now the Chinese Yuan can only be spend in China, not even Hong Kong takes Chinese Yuan. Vladimir Putin "Raged" at Xi Jinping betrayal. But could do nothing he had to go on the "Black Market" and the Africans of course allowed Vladimir Putin to get US dollar, but at a very big market up. 😊 So Vladimir Putin was f**ked twice over, once by the Chinese and again by the Africans. There is no fear of your BRICS in west.

BRICS wants to build a new currency. It is also worth noting that gold has historically been used as a store of value and a means of exchange, and some countries still hold significant amounts of gold in their reserves. However, it is unclear how a new currency backed by gold would function in the current global financial system and whether it would gain widespread acceptance. Ultimately, any decision to create a new currency would be subiect to numerous economic, political, and logistical considerations.

It's interesting to learn more about the discussions and proposals around BRICS nations and their potential use of gold. There are several reasons why people may choose to buy gold, including its historical use as a store of value and means of exchange, its potential as a hedge against inflation or currency devaluation, and its relative scarcity compared to other commodities. Additionally, gold can offer diversification benefits to investment portfolios, as it tends to have a low correlation with other asset classes like stocks and bonds. However, it's important to note that investing in gold carries risks and may not be suitable for evervone. and investors should carefully consider their investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial situation before making any decisions.

Investing in gold is a reliable choice, and I plan to keep buying more to make up for my losses. While silver is also a good investment, my collectibles are not as similar. BRICS will not only succeed. It will grow in strength too. The reason is because it is modelled in trade and finance. All member states have equal rights. Not ideology. Nor geo-politics. It respect the sovereignty of its member states. It does not interfere in the internal affairs of its member states. It is not a military alliance and it does not restrict its members in having trade or good political relationships with non-member countries. In short, it has all the ingredients to be successful.

BRICS all of its founding members are active members of the G20. In the G20 the economic conditions of its member countries are almost equivalent and there is not a big gap between one another. The difference with the BRICS is that there are no clear criteria for new members where there are countries that are developed and there are countries that are still lagging behind economically. It is possible that in the future weak countries will only become market targets for products from more developed countries

Give support only to voices that are for the common good and never one that elevates the individual, be it a person, a tribe or clan, a nation, or a culture, above others. We know in our hearts the difference between right and wrong and holding ourselves to be superior to others is wrong, even and particularly if we are more capable. If those in power (hegemony) view all acts that elevate the common good as in opposition to its hold on power, then it's time that their hold on power must be severed by whatever means at the people's disposal.

She focused on differences between member states (India & China) and the political and economical instabilities within some other countries (Ethiopia, Iran & Egypt), their continued dependence on the dollar, etc. Her reluctance to accept the relative youth of the BRICS+ and its sister institutions as the reason for their relative 'ineffectiveness' compared to similar institutions in the West tell what her real interests were in conducting the programme.

Chinese economy is under stressful times, and it doesn't looks a pretty good pictures in the future as well. China need BRICS more than BRICS countries present and new ones. Some countries including UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iran is the best thing as those countries may have chance to reconcile their difference, also inclusion of more countries from Africa will give more platform to often neglected countries from the west. BRICS currency won't be happening for sure, there is so much difference between members, old and news. Interoperability of local currency for the trade among members will be a best bet.

To Kumars, no need to worry about the Chinese economy as China still has the highest growth rates when compared to EU countries and the US. All African needs are infrastructure and industrialization. There's one and only one country in the world who can help and that country is China. So keep that in mind.

@@surojeetchatterjee nothing to do with ignorance. From the 1950s when China and India were on par GDP wise to today when China's GDP is 6 times more than that of India. China contributes 47% of funds in the New Development Bank under BRICS and how much does India contribute? Also another big issue is that India has a bad relationship with all Muslim countries and it's up to India to solve its relationship with them. The Chinese are fully aware of the rebellious role India plays among BRICS and expanding the membership is a wise movement to negate Indians potential adverse moves. Time is running out for India and if India still carries the mentality that it must take a first class seat in BRICS while its economic might can only afford it an economy class wait for the Indians being shown the door out.
@nitinkumar29

@@ZZGZBF Chinese grew faster because of overexploitation of its population, oppression of minority communities and dictatorial regime where decisions are made without democratic debate if that's good or bad so Chinese did not grew organic. Chinese also got huge investment from the US and Europe. Mass intellectual right theft of foreign companies and the government by Chinese companies and government also contributed. Now investments are drying up, no order, real estate bubble burst happened and Chinese financial institutions are failing, tofu building collapsing, highest level of unemployment is there, fake food is there. In short, Chinese economic is coming down faster than it rose while Indian growth is organic, steady, democratic and will continue to be to outplace Chinese economy in future. India has excellent relation with Muslims countries except Turkey but India does not have concentration camps unlike China.

In shadows fierce and bleak, a tale unfolds, Of strength undone and mighty lands laid low. The heavens weep, as empires start to crumble, Inevitable, the fall we all must know. Oh, how the mighty are but naught but nations, Their lofty castles built on shifting sands. Their power and glory, once hailed with awe, Now dwindles, lost in ash and ruin’s hands. With hearts of hubris, they dared reach the skies, Their ambitions soaring, their emblems high. But fate's cruel hand could not be blind forever, And down they tumbled, once bold and spry.

I found the presenter of this video patronising and dismissive. No wonder developing nations are taking it upon themselves to develop their own block. Yes, they will make mistakes, but they have to start somewhere especially as the West continues to try and ‘put them in their place’. As someone who lives in the West and is from the West I am concerned for the future. Partnership working, surely in the 21st century, is the only way forward? Something that the West has forgotten about both when communicating with other countries and also with its managing of its own citizens. In relation to the latter, I am referring to the imposition of net zero, cancel culture, the my way or no way mentality that has crept into Western cultures in the last few years. Where is the tolerance, people’s right to freedom of speech, to get on with their lives without too much government interference? Sadly, our world has changed forever and few people are aware of it.

That lady was saying all the nice things to promote coorporation among BRICS countries, especially between China and india, and co-exist with the west. The probem with india is that it wants to dictate BRICS's policies and rules to benefit india the most, despite it's having a much smaller economy. If india always stays on the opposite side of other BRICS countries, it will be looking pretty bad and isolated in the long term.

A bigger BRICS I believe, does not equate to a stronger challenger to the G7. It's agenda to me, is sadly, based on an insecurity of being a lesser, poorer, less innovative bloc. An expanded dis-united BRICS in terms of language, religion, huge cultural differences and the huge disparity in the members wealth makes for a very messy governance of tge group. China, seen as the leader of the group, is a non starter. The country is imploding economically big time and it's internal problems are likely to get even worse.
