Great to see CG on her bike. Reminded me of when a guy in our village turned up one night (1980) on his brand new MT50. So exciting & sealed my love of motorcycles. Beware selling bikes too cheap, some will think there is an issue with it or U R desperate to sell & try to low ball U. I usually go for an average & give good info & plenty of good photos. Some times how far your buyer lives from U is a factor. Also be careful delivering your bike free a long distance as some use that to get U to take less on arrival.

Also depends on area, where I live riding motos is considered seasonal and a ton of people just sell their bikes when it starts getting colder. So like August through December but also lot more people selling around that time to raise money for the black Friday sales and Christmas money..basically the worst time to sell but the best time to buy because of the market being oversaturated. Places down south like Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas the market is a tiny bit more stable because of the better year round weather. 😉

One more thing about pricing that I use. Especially for side projects. Who's going to buy it? I recently listed and sold a 98 Escort ZX2, and made no money on it. When I listed it I knew my buyer was going to be a kid, or someone looking for a cheap run around. And I didn't want to spend days answering messages. So, I priced it at what I needed and to sell within a week. First person who actually showed up paid listing. Fifteen minutes of in person meeting. Listed for 18 hours. I felt I came out on top. I had a fun run-around for 8 months, learned some wrenching, and basic painting like I wanted and didn't lose any money. Basically I sold it for purchase price plus parts. Mission accomplished.

Heres a question how did you get the kx100 and the kdx200 street legal? A video explaining the process that you did for the state of California. For the KX100, the main thing was a new frame because the "old" bike was recognized as a dirtbike in the legal stuff or something, then all parts were migrated from the "old" bike to that newer frame, custom brackets, a bit of electrical engineering. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqPWfIKfp6yhaZI

I have great success listing bikes a little higher than market value and then lower the price (walk it down) like 10% every week. When potential buyers ask, “what’s your bottom or your best price?”, I always respond .. “Make me an offer!” 9 times out of 10, they offer a little more than what my “bottom” was. The buyer is happy because they named their price and I’m happy because I sold the bike and made a few bucks for my next project. Works great for me! RIP, Cameron. 😢
