Cottage living has been around for over a year now and although I’ve played around with several features, I’ve never actually tried putting in the effort to run a farm!
In today’s video we going to find out how much money my sim can make from a week of farming!

Yes you can tell somebody who isn't a farmer when they talk about milking their male cow... If you do this, the white stuff that comes out is not milk! But your cow will be really happy.

Lock your gates to everyone but you to lock out animals. You can also upgrade the coop to have fox alarms by doing the town quests (or by cheating). Birds and rabbits help you with gardening when they are befriended. There’s also the scarecrow who helps as well. You can also use sprinkles to help with watering. Love your videos! Would love to watch you play cottage living again maybe with a family! 💕

If you really want to get rich quick Focus your energy on treating your chickens well and get them to lay hatchable golden eggs. Then raise a flock of golden chickens be sure to keep them happy and each one of their eggs will sell for 300s or more

Gary's 'milk' should have sold for significantly more than actual milk. If your bull has a decent pedigree you can, get a very good price for his 'milk'. Most farmers just go with artificial insemination now as the old fashioned way involves either keeping a bull of your own (expensive and a hassle to keep him contained and people safe from him, especially a dairy breed) or moving cattle around unnecessarily.

Wait why would bulls be more dangerous? I’ve never been harassed by a bull but the amount of times I’ve been nearly beaten by a cow is ridiculous. Maybe cause our bull have always been with a herd and our current was a bottle baby I raised, but over all if I had to make the choice between being locked with a bull or cow I am choosing bull.

Something James Turner did was to haggle with Agatha when buying goods from her but doing the same and selling your goods to her or the other shopkeeper woman. Not sure what the difference would be but maybe that’s worth a test to compare? 😊

I think it’s either a 10% discount or a 10% selling bonus depending what you’re doing. Then like 20-25% on Saturdays during the events

If you haggle during the fayre on a Saturday you can get 25% extra for selling your items, or discount to buy items. I love playing with living off the land.

Farming and recycling are REALLY good ways of making money, although when you sell your stuff from you garden and whatnot, take it to a lady in Henneford On Bagley (however you spell that) try to haggle with her and if you succeed you can make some really good money for sure. I believe her name is Pam? I'm not 100% certain.

It is indeed the best pack of all.. #1 in my book.. and if you have a family farm with kids and one of them kids is in high school, you can run off during the day and do that as well.. dad does chores early in the morning, milking cows, feeding chickens, mom does some gardening, then its off to school for the kids at 8.. when school is over, head home, and then do afternoon chores again.. run to the market if need be, head off to the town pub, have your teens sneak out and party.. makes for great game play.. a good family friendly play..

If someone played this and thought, "Wow this is what farming is like?!" This is the most glamorized look at farming ever. No sane farmer cleans their animals much at all. And the chicken coop gets cleaned maybe every few weeks. Most of your farm animals dont need to be fed (they eat grass, but I find it strange that there is no water troughs; automatic or otherwise). Honestly farming can be pretty leisurely once the heavy lifting is done (housing and infrastructure for animals). Though I'm not a garden person, I've done enough to realize that even that can become rather leisurely as well.

Next, find her a wholesome man to help with the chores, get a bigger farm, have him do all the work outside, you have him build you a green house, you take care of the plants, he takes care of all the animals, and you get to have a kid.. and I would suggest having at least a 40x50 lot to do it on.. maybe 3 cows, 1 Llama, two chicken sheds, grow some of your own food that you will eat, both fruits and veggies, and some flowers, and do some flower arranging as well to help bring in some good bucks.. and hubby can do the big plant garden outside as well.. and the more you keep to growing just one type of crop, the easier it is when it comes to selling them at market.. lettuce is a huge thing in farming because you can make the treats for Healthy.. which extends the lives of your livestock, chickens, Llamas and cows.. and those things I would not put in the fridge.. just keep them in the personal inventory.. use the lot traits to help with gardening, great soil, let it grow, and also use the small house trait Lighten the Load so your bills are smaller.. and lot challenges, simple living, wild foxes and off the grid go great for working the farm.. self sufficient.. and put a big green dumpster near the animals to dump all their trash in.. so you can dumpster dive and sell off some of what comes out of there as well.. its profitable and you will get some fertilizer as well.. I think this was the best pack that they created.. you got all the animals, plants, you got the market to sell all your stuff at and a bar to have a drink at before heading home so you can socialize and make some friends from the locals.. the kids can go to school, do their homework and help out with any pets or with chickens or the garden as well.. if you have a high school kid, you can now take him to school and do that as well.. and if you like the idea of your teen sneaking out to go party, you can do that as well.. LOL it would make a great game play..

the fastest way to get simolean is farming black mini sheep. each sheep gives u 1600 profit. if u create new game in buldozed land and straight buy 10 mini black sheeps (will cost u 20k simoleans) . usually u only have 1k left for buyin bed and toilet with bad house. the next day u could sell the sheep for 3k each but remember u should shear em first before sell em for maximizing the profits. and sell them via rancher menu in your phone for instant sell. with 40k simoleans u could build decent house in a day or 200k simoleans in a week , so i could enjoy social with the neighbour without have to do any job
